Vintage AKG, sounds great but leads not connected?

I'm just hoping to understand what's going on here...

Here are some links to pics of a vintage AKG (Dyn 60 K, probably late 40's early '50s) I found. It had no XLR cable but I added one, plugged it into an interface, gave it some preamp juice, and it sounds great (i.e. in fine working condition). I opened up the grille to see if I could ascertain if it was all original and became perplexed about two wire leads that I could see just floating by the capsule (not soldered to anything). I didn't break the mic build down any further to investigate behind the capsule, but am curious if anyone has any idea what those two leads are...can it be an "open" circuit? Is there such a thing?! They are definitely not attached or soldered to anything regardless of what the image may seem to indicate. In the last picture I have red arrows drawn to the leads.

Thanks and pics attached!
