Soundmaster SR-88 Component Help

Hey,

Newbie here who bought 3 or 4 old non-functioning units to learn on and having trouble identifying 2 components in the attached photos. The first is the tall/wide blue one which looks somewhat like a capacitor but I'm pressure sure isn't and the flat silver one. Help?

Thanks!

That is an inductor probably used for the tone oszillator of the snare drum.

That is a trim potentiometer probably used to adjust the proper noise level.

I have 1 SR-88, 2 Boss DR-55, 2 Boss DR-110s and a Korg EM-1 that literally had a cracked PCB when I got it. The EM-1 is my learning tool.

For the most part I find iron soldering the easy thing, though I'm clearly messing something up when I use the heat gun on my station because I burn the PCB with that, but don't melt the solder?!

Basically compiling datasheets and finding compatible components and placing an order.
