Crystal oscillators (the frequencies are silkscreened on the PCB next to them)

It looks to me like just the crystal, not a whole oscillator unit.

A crystal oscillator has four pins typically, and always at least three; a crystal has only two. The crystal is commonly used in an oscillator circuit with an external feedback amplifier of some sort, perhaps just a gate or two on a chip or a transistor of some sort, but isn't in itself an oscillator.

Yes ! The frequency is printed on the crystals itself and silkscreen printed on the p.c.board...
CRY may be the abbreviation for CRYSTAL, TO maybe the manufacturer ?
And indeed it is only a crystal, not a complete oscillator but just one part of it.
The printed "88-07" and "88-06" on the crystal is the year and month of manufacturing

So does this mean that this is an off the shelf part which can be replaced with another generic 20000 hz crystal? Seems like there is some leakage/damage on it.

I wouldn't replace it for cosmetics. Those parts are quite robust....

So you think the goo on it is external? Dont know exactly where it shouldve come from but looks like cap-leakage.

The 2 on the RHS look like the packages are damaged, are those crystals potted in some way?

First things first though: what is it and does it work?
