Very interesting to see the gutz of the Sackbut Synthesizer showing in documentary about restoring the instrument . Thing that strike me is there is no circuit board and all seem attached to the knobs .

Im going to be off topic for one moment if I can... I dont know where to post this question and you guys seems knowledgeable here.

I was running my synth DI into my BAE 1073 out the XLR's into my mackie vlz mixer's xlr mic pre's to test some stuff. I realized 10 minutes in I had the phantom switch turned on the mackie...

The BAE seems to be fine but im worried I maybe did some damage by shooting phantom into the outputs of the BAE....

Basically can phantom power hard a mic preamp xlr output?

(i know im likely overreacting I just want to make sure I did no damage)

Anything transformer balanced like the Neve will simply ignore phantom power.

Only electronically-balanced (IC) outputs may be damaged this way.

I'd be really interested in seeing what processors modern home keyboards and synths are using. For example Roland FA range of synths and Roland's synth pianos. And Yamaha's equivalent products etc.

Any idea what these products are running on?

Here's the module that generates the 250V plate voltage from the lunchbox's +/-16V rails in our Tubule, Valvop, Vacbax, and Valveq tube 500-series modules. The 2nd photo shows use of an infrared camera to identify a failed chip on one of these boards. That chip never dies on its own, but I shorted it out while poking around with the exposed ground sleeve on a clumsy scope probe. Or maybe it wasn't the probe that was clumsy, but the prober.

That rocker switch doesn't look like anything I've seen on a Fender Amp, but the circuit looks like the passive tone stack from a tube preamp, maybe even some Hi-Fi gear from the 1960s?

Thanks! This is my first post here so I’m a little confused how to do this haha. Also I’ve got this one that looks like rcl? Filter? High end for sure! I’ll have that fender board here in a day or two I’d gladly take pointers or any advice on what to do with em!

I have few of these line amplifier/splitter units. Anyone know what the blue chip is? Labelled PA-2. It has 9 pins, 2 transistors and few other components on the other side.

It's probably a custom hybrid module, under the resin coating will be standard components on either normal fibreglass or ceramic PCB.

Yes, this much I could figure out before posting my question. ? The upwards arrow seems familiar. Can't recall who is the manufacturer.

Probably whoever made the amplifier/splitter

Such modules are very rarely generic, unless it has attracted interest from the diy-scene

1073, again...

Getting close to starting this build, cramming two 1073s clones into a 1u rack, somthing you cannot do with real ones....with eq, and dig the tiny output gains, took 3 country’s to get knobs I am happy with...
Note the way too small dual concentric knobs...
Will not be used.
Mabey a 500 project?
Sorry no guts shots yet, but man I am proud of them silly knobs...
