Reverb: Bricasti M7 vs IRCAM Flux vs Valhalla

the SM57 of reverbs takes on the ELA-M 251 of reverbs!

below is a link to reverb samples posted in the remote forum from the bricasti M7, IRCAM flux verb, and Valhalla - applied to a dry solo violin track.

a friend supplied the bricasti sample, and I did my best to match it with flux and with Valhalla. an interesting comparison in that the M7 is $3500, flux is $470, and Valhalla is $50.

you get to guess which one is which!

In order of how "expensive" it sounds to me i would guess:
1. M7
2. valhalla
3. Flux

i dont know the settings you used
but 1 sounds over done
2 sounds a bit more accurate
and 3 seems to present to me a real room...im gonna go with 3 being bricasti. Ive never tried the others so i dont know.

the 1st sample is the bricasti M7, the 2nd is IRCAM flux verb, and #3 is Valhalla.

1st sample was too wet in comparison to the others..should match them better

1. valhalla
2. flux
3. bricasti

but maybe i just like the sound of cheap reverb... I dont hear the room in the first sample... are you sure the wetness is applied similarly in all three samples

I like number 3 best, and number 1 second best.
Number 3 was easiest to hear and sounded wider and more huge than number 1.

Did not like number 2 at all. Could not hear any effect.

1. pretty nice
2. pretty dry
3. best depth, but a tad bright

After seeing the answer, I'm not sure if I've versed enough about reverb.

Just loved how 3D #3 sounds, its Vintage Verb or Valhalla Room?.

Best regards,
Daniel.

Thank you, heard some audio samples from their webpage but didn't liked it, because they sounded too bright, but in this case it sounds like the reverb is part of the audio in a 3D way (1 and 2 sound very flat to me).

Daniel.
