Elation KM 901 vs Neumann TLM 49-67 and U87ai (guitar)

Hi Slutzers!

First - how to listen: Pairwise tracks with the same numbers after the hyphen.
For example: SG ACC 10 - 03 with SG ACC 13 - 03,
NG Gomez 10-03 with NG Gomez 13 03 - and so on.

Recorded through the Summit Audio 200 Preamp, ProTools Mix 24 (5.03) - 888-24.

Mics (only New)
Elation KM 901 LDC (transformerless)
Neumann TLM 49 (idem)
Neumann TLM 67 (idem)
Neumann U 87ai (transfomer)

Please !!!

Do not shoot the guitar player, he played as he can ...
To get the keys to the records - please wait, or write to the PM

Thanks.
Mike

- a pair of KM 901 Elation (my guess: track -01, mic1 here below),
- a TLM 49 and a TLM 67 (my guess: track -02, mic2 here below, I like this one the less),
- a pair of U87Ai (my guess: track -03, mic3 here below).

Did I understand well what you did ?

I have balanced the RMS levels, which required 2 to 3 dB gain corrections.
didier.brest, I'm sorry, but I do not understand how you mixed the those tracks.
And why?
All recordings were made in pairs. One microphone was always on the spot, and next we put a different microphone. We adjust the recording level each time. But, unfortunately, there is no preamp Summit Audio level meters. Therefore, we looked at the indicators for 888-24.

Record the following scheme: the first microphone + second, first + third , first + fourth.

20 views, two posts... Very low efficiency.
The wrong test or a bad record?
Inaudible for comparison?

hmmm
All mics is new and are not bad.
PT mix is nice. Maybe guitar and guitarist this weak spot?

I was one of the people who listened, and I am a professional classical guitarist. For the purposes of a microphone test, there is nothing wrong with the performance of the guitarist and I absolutely hear differences in the recordings.
However, even after reading your explanation of how the test was conducted, I still don't understand what you did into how the mics were used.
At any rate, I liked 13-01 the best, and I would like to know what the answers are.

Brian, thanks for listening and reply. Answer in your PM.
In the test, I had four microphones and one, but two-channel preamp.
- therefore microphones recorded for pairs.

Hi, I`m interested in hearing the TLM 67 and that`s how I came across this thread.

What is going on here? I have no idea what you have recorded with.... Could you just upload files with a description of what it is?

If so, thanks!

13's the one I think I like... is that because It's the one I hear repeatedly?
