tom mic shootout

not fully scientific and terrible playing for sure but interesting comparison of 6 mics i had access to that are commonly used to mic toms on a kit.
all 6 mics were placed in aprox the same spot and a single pass was recorded using the same pre (8 ch gama).

i was very interested in not only the drum sound but the off axis sound.

I like a lot of the D4 (or is a D6?!), for Bleed of the kick! It sound huge! Good low end! .. on the tom well, i think all are good.. but thinking about off axis.. D4(or D6)
