I need pics from the pinout of the plug that is connected to the PSU, please.

thanks
Looking at the male connector from the FRONT, pins pointing at me, ground wire on top, in clockwise order you have

12 o clocck: Ground
Teal
Black
White
Blue
Yellow
Red
CENTER PIN IS BROWN AND SHORTED TO GROUND

Female connector (to mic) reads exactly the same in counterclockwise direction (ie cable is wired straight through)

Good luck!

hey jdurango,

thanks again for helping me out!
since you said the cable was practically wired straight through...
would you please check your cable and PSU connector once more?
I've noticed that BROWN and WHITE are both shorted to GROUND on the connector inside the PSU.
thanks!

Didn't notice that but I'll check when I get home.

Did you have a chance to check again?

Checked again, confirmed I don't see white shorted to ground. Double checked with a multimeter and confirmed, all pins to ground are wide open, OL resistance, except brown.

I dunno what to tell ya man. Maybe the CM6 has several revisions?? Maybe KV would know? Personally, I'd check with Stellar to be certain. Good luck!

...I haven't had a chance to look, but I believe connections are identical on both ends of the 7-pin cable, so if pin-out is the same, you can just follow the configuration from the preamp connector end, no?

Well I just checked the male end, but if there was a short it wouldn't matter which end was probed. So yeah, they should be the same on both ends.

I've checked both Ends of the cable, and the female connector that goes into the mic does NOT have the BROWN wire shorted to ground.

But the connector inside the PSU has BROWN & WHITE shorted to ground.

thanks to everyone for all of your efforts to help me out!
really appreciate it!

To be clear, color coding isn't always the same with some manufacturers. What's important is pinout. On mine, center is definitely shorted to ground. Not sure where white is on your cable, but if it's ground in the PS it's ground. COM is COM all the time, you just have to be careful about creating a ground loop with extra ground points....it shouldn't harm your mic if you do, but if you notice extra noise, I'd try clipping those leads and wiring straight through with only center as ground. Anyway, once again, best of luck with everything!
