Question AMD Opteron 8xxx vs. Intel Xeon E54xx plugin tests.

well,
i need to buy a new PC,
what should i get, AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon ?

according to:
AnandTech: Intel "Harpertown" Xeon vs. AMD "Barcelona" Opteron
and..
passmark.com PerformanceTest 6.1 software
PassMark Software - CPU Benchmarks - Multiple CPU Systems
PassMark Intel vs AMD CPU Benchmarks - High End
and
AMD's dual-core Opteron processors - The Tech Report - Page 7
...
AMD Opteron 8354 Quad 2.2ghz 2L2+2L3=4MB cache is better for: Integer Math & Floating Point Math.
But...
Intel Xeon E54xx 12MB cache are better for SSE.

i know: most plugins are SSE optimized,
but the difference between:
Intel SSE vs. AMD 3DNow! is not much. +-10%
50000 vs. 45000 points.
...
intel xeon boards like D5400XS, Asus z7s ws or apple mac pro can have 2x CPU with 4 cores = 8.
vs.
AMD Opteron 8XXX boards like Tyan S4985-E + M4985-E can have 8x CPU with 4 cores = 32.

why someone would need so much ?
to work at 192khz 64-Bits in 32-Bit OS, the PC needs: >8x-10x More CPU needed.
and new generation plugins like T-Racks 3 are CPU eaters.
------------------------
anyway...

i think syntetic tests are a bit abstract, and are easy bad interpreted.
i think real life plugins tests are easy & more accurate.

i know some softwares are more CPU efficient than others,
all vs. Ableton for example.
i know that also diferent versions of the same software are different too.
Sonar 7 vs. Sonar 8 or PT 6.1 vs. 6.4
so...
i need All the help i can get...

something like this::
Testing..testing....HD_process vs HD_accel vs Dual opteron

"Sony oxford eq +filters, All Tracks Mono.
HD process card: 18 plugins
accel card: 46 plugins
dual AMD Opteron 246: 180 plugins @ 80%cpu"

------------------------
HOW TO:
create a Stereo Track,
take your favorite plugin.,
insert all plugins you can usign the same plugin,
create new Stereo tracks as needed.
activate Monitor Input in the 1 channel, no DirectMonitor.
use A) or B)
insert plugins until you hear clicks or pops, or interrupted audio signal.
remove/bypass plugins one by one until you hear clean perfect audio.

A) external audio signal like ipod/dvd player-->AD--software-->DA--> flawless audio.
or..
B) use a Pink Noise Generator plugin inserted in the AudioIn 1&2 channel: like MDA Test Tone VST/AU Free.
KVR: mda TestTone - Virtual Effect
or Nuendo Test Tone Pink Noise Generator.

and post your results here., in the following formats:
****************************
1) take screen shots of CPU-Z and the CPU meter/plugins used,
cpu-z software for all the details about your PC.
CPUID

2) manually write down:

OS:_____________________
Software: _______________
Version: _________________
CPUs: ___________________
Board:___________________
Memory Type:_____________
Memory Size:______________
Soundcard:_______________
Soundcard driver version:____
Buffer Size used in the test:__________ (128 to 1024 samples recomended)
Sample&Bit used:_________
Plugin used:_____________
Mono or Stereo:__________
Plugin version:____________
Plugins inserted:__________
CPU load:________________

and send this Link/Post/Thread to anyone you can.
thanks.

long been done and over with

besides who would waste their time with 192k?
and even more who is going to buy a 32 core system for audio?

a standard Core i7 (4 cores) is more CPU power than 95% of studios need.

we run out of memory long before CPU power. and no 64 bit aint ready yet aside from a few software (VSL and EW Play)

however for some real use type benchamarks for audio
