Maybe not that scientific, but:
Neumann is the u87 ai - that’s what they have for rent locally.
DIY is from micparts.com
I use the exact same pass on both mics.
Mics are side by side or top/bottom (guitar) so they’re getting the Exact same signal.
Pres are Cranborne Audio Camden’s. CA claims they are ultra clean.

Observations which won’t likely affect your preferences:
All recordings are on cardioid. DIY will do Omni as well but I didn’t compare them.
The DIY is VERY hot and has no pad, which is why I had to place so far from the kick.
The Neumann would be useful in more situations, since it has a roll off (guitars, male voices) a pad (kick drum, overheads) and does a figure 8 pattern (mid side, room mics, etc)
