Concerning the bus comp: I sent you the answers, maybe you'll find your favorite. Do you own any API 2500 emu? Always a great match with SSL channels in my book. The thrust is such a powerful feature. There's Waves, UAD, Acustica Pink and the new TrackComp Beta.

EDIT: And again, mind you, I just copied the EQ settings, you definitely could match them better with a lot more time. I once tried that on a bass track with C1 and Waves, you could get them to almost null, you just have to set them differently.
I have the Waves 2500. I have liked it on Drum buss.
Thanks again

Try it on your 2bus. Old, Thrust and Knee Med, Link to 70 with both filters engaged. The rest to your liking, I'd start with 3:1, 30ms attack, fast release.

One very important thing to avoid confusion: in Old mode the detector is placed behind the output gain. This is confusing if you don't know. You could leave the output on auto or adjust it manually. Many prefer to set it manually, it then interacts with the threshold.

FWIW, here's a GS post from Vance Powell about how he uses his 2500:

I'll be happy to pass my 2500 settings on..
Threshold.. Well sprinkle to taste!
Attack 10, unless its too slow, then 3
Ratio 4, unless that's too much.. Then 3
Release.. Variable.
Thrust med
Tone med
Style old
Link Hi pass 80%
Gain button on! Very important!
That's it.. I think..

Hmm I liked console 1 the best. Would love to hear waves CLA mix hub added here. In my opinion it is a huge improvement over their older ssl emulations. But from here I liked console 1 the best. Now I want it

I hear ya, but I don't have and don't need Mixhub. Console 1 is awesome, but your DAW should feature full integration to get the best bexperience.

Yeah I am on PT. So I know console 1 canโ€™t control faders. But I have artist mix for that. When I decide I am ready for a new toy I will pick up a console 1. I have enough plugins where I donโ€™t NEED any more. Just want lol

You just can't test it like that!

Hi,
You can't mix on one plugin and then copy the values from that plugin to all the others.
the plugin that to first mixed on will sound better.
the values are NOT the same on all the plugins.
This make the test invalid.

Dude, I never claimed this was a scientific test. I explicitly mentioned how I did it and that I know the EQs react differently on the same frequencies. Isn't that a valid point to show in its own right? I did take quite some time to match the compression action, though, which resulted in different values as well. Sorry for didn't taking four more hours of my free time to phase match all plugins as closely as humanly possible. Why don't you do it? Just sayin'.
For the record: i didn't like the starter plugin best.
