Talking Huge summing shootout - vintage Neve, Shadow Hills Equinox, API DSM w/ diff op amps

Here's a test track put together for the purpose of testing out nine different summing boxes/configurations. Please share which you like the best.

16 channels (8 stereo stems) sent out identically from a blackface Apollo 16 and captured back using the Apollo's inputs at decent (i.e. low) dBfs levels. No adjustments of any kind made between captures. RMS-matched the stereo sums but I still think I hear volume differences, so please level-match yourself to your satisfaction if you must. Also I know the point of summing is to mix into the summing bus but then a scientific shootout is impossible. Don't flame me bro (/sis).

The options are
In the box (Reaper sum)
Shadow Hills Equinox (note: used only 16 channels, rest were impedance capped)
- Iron
- Nickel
- Steel
vintage Neve 80 series voltage summing bus resistor network
- makeup gain with BAE 1073
- makeup gain with 512c with Scott Lieber Red Dot 2520
API DSM (7800 + 2x 8200) with the following op amp switch outs
- original API 2520
- GAR1731 for both ACA and BSTR
- GAR1731 for ACA and Scott Lieber Red Dot 2520 for BSTR

Files are labeled A through I in random order.
Would love to hear what you have to say about what you hear. Answer key after enough folks ask to see it (if that happens).

Thoughts? I could really use some help deciding which sounds best out of A and C (and maybe even D). The order wasn't really random, I put the some of the most important ones first.

It's quite lovely how the number of views already hint at the preferences, even though no votes have been cast yet. Discount a % of the views on A (with it being the first anyone will go to) and you still get the top views being on the mixes I thought were the best sounding ones - sweet!

So what do you like between A, C and D, folks? Thanks and happy holidays!

Thumbs up

I like D. It has more depth in it.

A vote for "D" here... For my ears the instruments gelled together more so than the others- had a sound closer to what I think we've become used to calling "record" quality.
