B-movie gems

I just re-watched Attack of the Killer Tomatoes after finding it in a cheap-ass bin at the mall. What an awesome movie.

Do you have any tips on other cult or b-movie gems like this one? Stuff that's...different. And interesting.

Keep 'em coming.

Not a B-movie, but certainly falls under the heading of "different" would be David Lynch's "Blue Velvet." Recommended.

Now it's dark.

'Robinson Crusoe On Mars' is a great one. It's got some really atmospheric backdrops and effects. They even used leftover stock footage from the original 'War of the Worlds' coz their budget ran out! And the music is sublime. Actually Massive Attack lifted practically the entire main theme for 'Special Cases' on the '100th Window' album. If it was a well known movie they would've been sued up the yinyang.

Also, 'The Man Who Fell To Earth' is seriously cool and weird.

I liked the Grindhouse movies a lot. Classic B-movie material, but better in my opinion.

I HATED THAT MOVIE! But Besides Blue Velvet and The Elephant Man there isn't much I like of Lynch's. Early Twin Peaks was good.

OK...I posted this awhile back but this thread would surely be the place for another mention.

People if you haven't seen "titanic" "remade" by some guy in ethiopia (probably with scam money!) then you really don't know what you are missing.
It is mind-bendingly BAD. I don't think there is a letter in the alphabet to class its serious badness.

Sick Belgium (spoken in french, with subs) movie about a film-maker who follows a serial killer on his path of destruction. It's looks like a real documentary.

This is a great scene where he kills a old lady. He explains afterwards that he saw her hearth medication on the table, so he didn't had to shoot her thus sparing a bullet.

Street Trash. Trust me, just rent it. I would call it influenced by Repo Man (another one you should see if you never have), but way, way darker and more twisted.

To my surprise, it is actually easy to find, even Netflix has it.

Don't open the Window

^it's actually a really good film too

I was trying to find a trailer for "The cynic The Rat And The Fist" but could only find the ones in Italian. But trust me watching the dubbed version of it is a highly entertaining experience. The dialogue is unreal. Don't open the Window is pretty good dubbing also.

The Faculty is pretty good B movie stuff.

"Plan Nine From Outer Space" is hilarious.........though it was meant to be serious.
