Why shops keep the Chore Boy out of reach...

OK, I'll admit it, I'm kinda out of it.

I was talking to the local crackhead (I hire him to do odd jobs when he asks... I feel bad for him.)

We were talking about all kinds of odd stuff.

I already knew that those little paper roses inside glass tubes with corks in the ends are just a legal way to sell crack pipes.

What I didn't know is that you need Chore Boy as well.

For those in other lands who don't know Chore Boy, it's a brand of scouring pad, but different from S.O.S. in that it's not impregnated with soap, and it's also copper rather than steel.

So it's used as a filter.

But that means convenience stores have to keep it behind the counter, depending on the neighborhood. It's back there with all the "valuables" like batteries, phone cards and smokes.

I guess you learn something new every day.

Hey, I'm just glad we still make something in the U.S.A.!!!
