Today's the day...........after a long cold winter

Yep,
It's almost 70 degrees here in Millbrook, NY today so I decided to take the car outta storage for the first time since last November.
Twisted the key, and it started right up, what a beautiful thing.

Life is good....

Later....I'm going for a ride

That looks sweet, have fun. I would love to take a spin in that behind the wheel. I always liked driving around with my Uncle who loved nice cars. It was always funny how everyone would look at us as we drove around. It's such a materialistic society that we live in. It's like I became an instant celebrity by being seen in the fancy sports car with my uncle and that was truly fun, who doesn't like to be noticed?

Hey BC;
It's real funny, the reactions you get while driving this thing.
Happens every time I'm in the car, no matter where I am.

For example,
If I'm in the car driving on a highway or a main drag, after a while behind the wheel you no longer realize you're driving an exotic, at that point you're just driving along, doing the speed limit, headed towards my destination, no biggie right?

Until, all of sudden a car speeds up behind you from nowhere, then comes alongside, and you notice that the passengers are waving their hands, pointing, have their thumbs up, & usually someone is taking pictures.

It's at that point you are reminded.....
Oh, I'm in a Ferrari.

Strange....

Had one of those too..
Well actually mine was an 1989, 328, not a 308 like the one in the photo with Tom.
I loved that car, but took a corner a bit too fast a few years ago, and did a double flip then rammed it against a tree upside down...

Every damp or cold morning I'm reminded about that accident!

For me it's all about the Testarossa - their other cars are nice, sure, but that one is just amazing. I think the original pic you posted was one. Unbelievable, such beauty.

Need the damn windows to open all the way!

Had a Lambo on trial for a day.
I LOVE the look of that car.
It's a classic.
I gotta tell ya...If the damn window would have opened all the way I would have bought it.
I love to drive in the summer, No ac, No stereo, windows down, listening to the music the engine makes.
It's a beautiful thing, trust me!

Couldn't do that in the Countach.......Way to hot.
Especially that I only buy BLACK cars like the one in your picture!

So I went with the Ferrari.
Took this photo, last Sunday before it rained!

Hey Tom;
Actually just took the snow plow off of it!
Since there's no more snow now.

It was good to make a few extra bucks this winter, fastest driveway plowing in the Northeast~!

Haha

Nice to see gearheads on Gearslutz!

Can't wait to break my Camaro out of storage, myself! Not as cool as a Ferrari, but fun none-the-less!

May your summer be filled with burning rubber!

I'm a Firebird fan myself. I wish I still had this one, my very favorite. A 69 Firebird 400 4 speed. I sold it for 4 grand in the mid 80's.

Friggin' sweet 'bird, man... I've always been a sucker for an F-body! thumbsup

Here's a pic of my current toy, a '99 Z28 w/ a 396 LS6 stroker... the engine rebuild would have paid for a few 1073's... heh

Been there, done that... er, well, kinda... slid my Trans Am head-on into (3) 12" diameter maple trees, broke 'em off, and finished by cartwheeling the car across a cornfield...

Luckily, I live close to Indianapolis... got life-lined to the hospital that treats the Indy 500 drivers. Kick-ass doctors!!! Luckily lived to tell the tale... Still get the headaches to remind me, too. Fun stuff.

Beautiful wheels boys.
Love the old Camaro & Firebird.
Two of my all time favorites!

Hey Woodhenge, we gotta learn how to control ourselves in these things.
Been slowing things down as of late myself.

Keep the really high speed stuff for the track...

I'm with ya there! After my 'mishap', I took a 4-month roadracing course at a track in Indy to keep that sort of thing from happening again... money well spent. (Not to mention a TON of fun!)

I ONLY hit it hard on the track these days... lesson learned! heh

Like the AC Daytona Coupe but the Testarossa is one of the ugliest cars ever made by Ferrari. That and the 250 GTO 'Breadvan' (do not mistake that for the regular 250 GTO!).
Personally I've always lusted after the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato when it comes to sports cars but I will always prefer a Facel Vega Facel II or an Iso Grifo GL 5.4L.
