I'm a full time student, went in as a mature student, studying digital music. Was a landscaper before that, still do it the odd weekend for extra cash. Looking to make my music my career now though.

I am a mechanic by trade, but managed to convince a workshop owner that he could employ me and I'd take day's off when I had studio work. About 6 years ago I was working 1 day at the workshop and 4 days with music teaching and studio work, so he asked me what I was going to do - of course I opted for full time music, so now my day job is 40% piano teaching, 60% studio work and a bit of extra band work here and there. I'm making a good living and consider myself extremely lucky and priviledged to be in this position

I do a lot of things, art, music, private, day trading, IT, comedy, reading.

Well art might as well be sales and marketing. But I used to do sales, so it's not that bad. Don't you wish you new what private was? Can you guess, hehe.

at least the "playgirl model" hadn't posted his photo...

(No personal offense meant. It's just that, when you boast "I work as a luxury escort for billionnaires' daughters wearing a Miss Texas ribbon", you better have 32 teeth, comb and definitely NOT wear a pocket-saver )

I would do it but most people are not me and can handle working jobs they don't like..... however...you did put air quotes around could.....You did not say you WILL like the job.

What about the people that LOVE their job....are they just that ****ing lucky or is it in their DNA.

Get paid pretty good money for doing something that's completely pointless just so I can enjoy making music with no pressure. Did it the other way round for years and have to admit it took all the joy out of it for me. Here's to pointlessness!

This is the reason I got into the tech side.

I design and install audio / video systems for corporate and commercial clients.
I spend my extra cash on audio gear; the bonus is I have wholesale accounts, though I'm always ordering the expensive stuff for other people. My own gear list is fairly modest.

Work at home as the one-man "composition department" for a small local publishing company. Work about 10-12 days a month laying out their publications, make my money, and the rest of the month is free for music and other pursuits. Definitely preferable to jobs worked in younger days - everything from convenience store clerk to mowing lawns to a very short stint as a for-pay webcam boy (some clients started to creep me out in pretty short order, LOL).
