RIP Martin Birch

This one bums me out deeply. He did so many albums of my youth.

One of the best and one of my favs. Was always hoping we'd be able to get more insight into these albums.

He popped on here very briefly back 2011, and I asked him to set up a Q&A with the site so we could all harass him for a month. It never happened unfortunately.

Bit sad to see this news too, so many classic albums that he was involved in ... Iron Maiden were my teenage favourite without doubt.

Hopefully, wherever he might be, he is at peace ...

A big part of my childhood. Deep purple, black sabbath, iron maiden.
For some reason you seen his name since you bought the first iron maiden album and stated to read the the lyrics and credits. And martin birch was one of those names that always came back on several of the album's.
So I think alot of us metal-fans discovered martin birch name long before we even knew what a producer was.

I've had everything in Martin's discography at one time or always

It was the absolute best music to drink many kegs of beer in our early 20's. All his stuff to me has a visual quality in the theater of one's mind, that willing suspension of disbelief, and Martin's production was conducive to the fantasy of whatever the song was about. He really nailed it and nailed it good.

And to the people around Martin, friends and family; you were a part of what made him great and I jones with you over our loss.

True. It's right in front of you. R.E.A.L.

This flat wanna-be-big Metal sound these days got nothing on that.

I'll give myself a bit of POWERSLAVE now, **** yea.

I love the sound from "Assault Attack " album by Michael Schenker Grpup.

As many hard and heavy rock lovers, I must thank a lot to Martin Birch, he knew how to take great songs to turn them into work of art.

Wishbone Ash, Whitesnake, Rainbow, Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden....they all wanted to work with him, just one of the best engineers

Martin Birch forever !
