Ginger Baker Lived ...

Somehow, "Rest in Peace" doesn't seem appropriate ...

I saw Ginger a few years ago. He had to be helped on and off the stage. Pushed it to the very end (because he needed the money). Still, a brilliant musician who listened and deeply understood music.

Grew up to your drumming with my parents blasting Cream - Toad throughout the house. Took that with me when I started playing drums myself. Always an inspiration since I can remember. Thank you - RIP Ginger Baker

He was a cranky cuss.

But slap on some headphones and check out the tambourine.

Great time to rewatch the documentary (or discover it for those who’ve never seen it)

Poster child for love the artist not the person lol... what a character

Can you imagine a band with him, Miles, Jaco? There would be blood spilled

Ginger , mitch mitchell, and john henry bonham influenced me a a young drummer in 1990. To me Gingers phrasing, odd time signatures, more msuical approach rivaled Bonhams intensity Mitch mitchells chaos. I owe more to Ginger than I do a lot of drummers who influenced me. My children know about Ginger baker, as they do Gene Hoglan.

Ginger Baker was a man who didnt take any ****, and it came out in his playing. I read he HATED Jack Bruce...imagine hating your sectionmate?
