Inside the .zip you'll find .bcr or .syx files to load into your BCR2000, and .tif image files if you'd like to print an overlay like the one in the picture here.

That's fantastic. Thanks two million!!
A little plea, however: Could you make it available in some other way, without the need to register on Flickr/Yahoo?

I'm not sure what you mean . . . there's no need to register anywhere. Just download this file

Well, Flickr kept asking me to register or login if I wanted to do anything. Then another window asked to register or login to Yahoo. I tried four times, always with the same result... I don't know, it's possible that I did something stupid...
Btw it's not of any importance anymore. I downloaded the file from your Dropbox link.
Again, many thanks!

Okay, cool - as long as you got the file alright. Enjoy, and let me know if you find any bugs in it.

I tried loading this into my BCR2000 to control my MKS-70 (Vecoven v 3.09) but doesn't seem to work. I know you've make this for v 4.x so there may be differences. Anyone else get these to work on v 3.x?

You have 5 files that seem to load on 5 different presets on the BCR. I get the patch file preset, but what is your thinking/approach behind your organization of parameters in files 1-4?

Also, are the presets sending their own patch to the synth?

i'm not sure if you saw my previous post re APR... any thoughts?

Thank you!!! I just found a bcr2000 on the cheap and picked it up as quickly as I could. Everything seems to be working as expected, really makes me appreciate Fred's work even more, loving the looping envelopes. I had tried some of the ipad editors but it is soo much easier, faster and more exact to use a physical interface.

It will take a little bit to remember where everything is but it seems well laid out. Initially I was wondering why you didn't make use of the multiple pages for the top eight encoders but I think the way you have put it together keeps everything easily accessible.

Well done!

Brand New SuperJX-flash!!!

I just got my new SuperJX-flash board and have been putting it through its paces.
This is an unbelievable piece of technology.
Being able to update the firmware on my 1986 JX-10 using only MIDI cables? Daaaauuuumn!
Now that's a cool invention. Vecoven strikes again!
It also gives me access to 16 banks of cartridge data which is like having 16 M-64C cartridges.
There's also a version which has 32 banks (2048 Patches). Unreal.
No more EPROM's for me. Woo Hoo!

I'm checking out a used JX10 tomorrow and will be buying this kit. Are there any must-do checks I should do before paying for it?

I know it has one key not working but I've fixed dead keys on other Roland synths so I'm comfortable opening it up and cleaning the contacts or checking for a broken trace.

There are so many layers and voices it's good to do a very thorough check by isolating each DCO in each tone layer in turn and making sure all eight voices for each of the DCO's are functioning properly - though usually they seem to be in my experience.

The most common problems I've encountered on old JX10s would be keys and aftertouch (the latter pretty much guaranteed to not be working), buttons, joystick, sliders and the display. Luckily most of these are easy enough do-it-yourself fixes. There is a display replacement mod on the vecoven.com site if you need to go that route.

I replaced all the buttons on mine, cleaned the key contacts and rebooted the aftertouch with the "graphite" method.

Whatever you do, get the Vecoven 4.X PWM upgrade . . . truly a game-changer.

Good luck!!!

I took a look at the site, but can anyone tell me if this simplifies the JX-10 menu-diving for the patches-tones? That's the one thing about the synth I really dislike.

Well, with the Vecoven upgrade's excellent MIDI implementation I solved the menu diving this way:

Picked up my JX10 today. It's in excellent condition.

2 keys had issues but once I'd cleaned the contacts with some IPA and generally cleaned the keybed it's all working fine now.

I have just ordered the Vecoven Flash upgrade.

The JX10 came with 2 packaged and minty condition M16C and a M64 cartridges.

I was going to eBay them but if anyone here is in the market for them let me know as I'd sooner not have to deal with eBay.

Back from my summer holiday and finally getting time with the JX10

The Flash Module installed easily and everything works great
I''m using the IPG800 app and it's a joy !

But: I cannot get the arpeggiator to work. I'm obviously doing something wrong but cannot figure it out. According to the FAQ on Vecoven's site I need to set the Lower Split Point and then the arpeggiator will play notes below that point. Well... that isn't working for me. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong.

I'm setting the Lower Split Point to a high value (actually I've tried it all the way up to G7) but still no arpeggiating when I play one or more keys.
The options are set as follows
Arp-A 1 BPM =110
Arp-A 2 Mode=Up Down
Arp-A 3 Octave Span=1
Arp-A 4 Insert=None
Arp-A 5 play rate= 1/8
Arp-A 6 Duration= 1
Arp-A 7 Velocity= Played
Arp-A 8 MIDI= All+Out

Anything else I should look at ?

Becoben replied to me on Facebook. It was as simple as doing a reset on the JX10 (hold down Write and Lower (left arrow) while powering up)

The arp works only on notes be,ow the Lower Split Point. The reference to Upper Split Point in the manual are incorrect.
