JD800 / 990 VST editor

Not seen anyone post about this so thought id mention it for those that may be interested- an excellent looking free VST editor for Jd800 (compatible with 990- but for now only controls all jd800 parameters)
Ive not installed it yet but it looks great, kudos to the creator....
I WISH i could get one of these for my Chroma!!

Hi, thanks for mentionning it As I am the developper of this JD-800 and JD-990 Panel for CTRLR Please do test it out and send me feedback, It's in the beta-test process and I already have some ideas The library of 4,900 unique patch is already ready but not delivered right now

Here are some infos with tutorial videos

Very interested in this too. I won't be able to test for a while, but I have an 800 and 990, so look forward to using on both.

Will you be adding the extra 990 parameters on another page?

I know looks aren't everything, but the GUI look amazing (loving the JD orange displays/LEDs)

The more people test, the more people ask for that, the more chance that'll be there eventually... But I want the current panel to be stable enough, then I'll decide if the JD-990 deserve it's own panel derived from this one I own a JD-990 so it's not out of the question

As for the look of it, the SDK/GUI/Designer of CTRLR made by Atom let me do that... I only took inspiration from the hardware synth and thought it would be appropriate to use the same design... I like it too... Orange is the best

Wow installed this last night and it's incredible!

Really makes the JD-990 more usable for me.

Now just need to get a vintage synth card for some extra waveforms.

Looking forward to a JD-990 panel version

This sounds great, I'll test it when I have time. I was searching also for a Cubase Device Panel. Last time I checked it wasn't possible because the synth needs 4 parallel sysex signals, as the JDs have 4 tone layers, and Cubase Device Panel architecture will only allow one sysex signal per fader...Any news on this?

I kinda have left CTRLR development, but I'll try to answer some questions

For JD-900 you cannot read from the device, but you can write to it... so the idea is to pick up a sound from the library which I don't remember if I released, and upload it to your jd-900 and then modify it...

Or to start from the initial patch and then create your sound from there...

The link may be old but go right to the site.

Check this out:

Ctrlr - Control your MIDI life (MIDI editor for all your hardware)
Panels | Ctrlr - Control your MIDI life (MIDI editor for all your hardware)
Index of /nightly (download the latest MAC build Ctrlr-5.3.83.dmg)

I'm going to be testing this out on some hardware soon, and I have a JD990 on the way and will let you (and the dev) know how it goes.

It doesn't make a sound, it's an editor interface, not an instrument.

editing the jd990 is really a pain and no fun as a vst user, but i always wanted to have some roland hardware, dunno if im gonna keep them or not cause im a software sucker and not happy with hardware workflow yet...

i tried out CTRLR but it doesnt work so far, i tried to set it up to recognize FL Studio and my signals. i think you can use it like a vst and edit/save patches easily like a synth vst? afaik. this would definitely make it more interesting for me and i can finally use it in my projects, i love its sound/character and as a 80s/90s junkie i need it ;D, until roland sometime release all those great hardware units faithfully as vsts....

did anyone set it up properly with an editor in fl studio`?
