Make sure you watch the sequels, too.

Keep towels and lots of clean underwear near you.

Obscenity. I just reported your post

From the youtube page 'A visit to Synthorama in Luterbach Switzerland'... That building looks SO insecure... might have to hire a van + a few 'heavies' and have me a little drive through Europe!

The other scenario: they're sitting in some collector's studio doing sweet **** all while he waits for eBay to increase the value.

In this case you can at least play them. Of course they're doing nothing at all most of the time, unless you manage to find a way to get everyone to visit the place on a daily basis.

Holy sh!t. If I ever go visit my family in Switzerland, I'll somehow figure out how to get there, even if it's on the other side of the country.

I couldn't see a Yamaha CS-80, for instance. Weird.

Also, there was a Roland System 100M and 700 missing.

This is some achievement... to gather these amazing soundmaking machines in a space..

I imagine a future when people will go to places like this to examine them in their details.. to learn from their desing..

It's great that someone took the time and effort involved in a project like this to create such legacy !

Wow!
Does anybody else find it strange that it is almost silent through most of the videos! How wrong is that?!?

You didn't see all the sequels!

There are such beauties as Korg PS 3100, PS 3200, PS 3300, MS 10, MS 20, MS 50...

Lots of Roland, too.

No Yamaha.

Synthorama Luterbach - Impressions I @ deep!sonic

Some niiice Pictures of the rest who is missing ;-)

The Video is silent, because you can try everything with headphones.

@ 1:00 you see the first FPGA based Synthesizer, developed by Martin Hollinger, founder of Synthorama. A super nice guy by the way..

The Artura 2 was quite beautiful. Very nice wood grain. Cherry maybe? The panel with the coloured blocks looked really sharp too. thumbsup

I also have to wonder what does this guy have that is NOT on display?

I know he got's a huge backstock and he repairs from time to time some of his backstock gear. Martin Hollinger is a really gentle person, he's got a huge knowledge about synthesizers and electronics. He's an engineer for ghielmetti:

Ghielmetti Enterprise/Location

He developed the first FPGA modularsynthesizer, called Airbourne:

Airbourne AVS04 Modular Synthesizer step sequencer

I would never steal or do antything that could harm him, because he helped me repairing my own stuff and that for a really cheap price.

The Synthorama is always open at the last sunday of the month, but you should contact him before you go there. And forget to ask him to record anything or buy anything, his museum is just for enthusiast who wanna come to listen, watch and play. And please don't ask him dumbass questions by mail, treat this guy with the respect he diserves!

I was joking you know. Damn, it is really difficult to convey humour sometimes, despite using emoticons.

I just wanted to make explicit that he's a gentle person and nobody should harm him.

Yeah, how can you be after all? You are excited about the Chameleon and yet bored in seeing a museum where the majority of instruments that shaped EM exist? Even if you are not a GS, you could see it from a historical perspective. What did you actually expect to see in a synth museum?

So it Was a Synth museum afterall

open to the public?

A serious tease to be there and know that you'll never get to use one of them vintage synths in your own music production.

New technology aslways excites, call me a freak, thats who I am.

I did not hear you complain , when I was excited reading you over msn describing the abilities of Andromeda when I was still considering buying it ...

I just found the presentation of the whole theme, boring, synths lying around doing nothing, not my thing. Make music not collections. Its alot more creative.

And yes I had to complaint about it .... go figure dfegad
