Internal battery & Reset resource page


Please add info including : (PM me if any info is wrong or needs updating)

1) Synth: Ensoniq ESQ-1

2) Battery Type: 3V Lithium 1200 ma, 2/3A cell

4) Reset info: After the power is turned on and you see your patches displayed, hold the RECORD and SOFT BUTTON #1 down at the same time. Answer "YES" (soft button #5 ) to reset the keyboard.

(Warning!: You will loose all 40 of the internal patches you may have created. Version 3.5 will load a set of factory default patches. Older versions (Ver 2.2 and earlier) of the O.S. will load BRASS1 into all 40 patches).

3) Fitting/Replacement Information: Will require CR2032 wth solder legs attached, careful removal of circuit-board and de-soldering of old battery and re-soldering in of replacement. (make sure you have the polarity right)

1) Synth: Roland D-110

2) Battery Type: 3v CR2032

3) Fitting/Replacement Information: Lift the battery clip on the holder and gently push out
battery, then replace with new one.

4) Reset info: Factory Reset: Hold down WRITE/COPY and ENTER while powering up.

4) Factory Reset: Press DATA TRANSFER, use the cursor buttons to select (FACTORY RESET), Choose YES

Battery is soldered into board, de-solder and replace with new battery with legs attached. *Recommendation*: solder in battery holder (from PC mb). Makes access alot easiler.

Notes: Don't forget to back up your sounds with the AN1x Edit software editor/librarian! I had to swap out my battery just hours before a gig but everything worked without a hitch after backup/restore!

3) Any relevant fitting information: Will require CR2450 with solder legs, or alternatively you can fit a CR2450 battery holder with 20mm pitch legs. Removal of main processor board required.

Synth: Roland MKS-50

Battery Type: CR2032

Fitting/Replacement Information: CR2032 battery has the contact legs attached and will need to be carefully de-soldered after gaining carefull access to under side of circuit board & replaced. (A good opportunity to replace with CR battery holder)


* Tip by GrantB *: Snip the legs off the battery before desoldering, leaving some of the leg sticking out of the PCB. Then heat the joint with a freshly tinned iron and pull the leg out with pliers

Battery Type: BR2325

Fitting/Replacement Information: Carefully remove circuit board that battery is on. The BR2325 battery has the contact legs attached and will need to be carefully de-soldered & replaced. (Backups advised before-hand)

3) Any relevant fitting information : Similar to Polysix, Ni Cad battery prone to leakage and damage to circuit board and surrounding components. http://www.mik-music.org/BatteryLeakage addresses the problem.

2) Battery Type (ie CR2032) : CR2032 (legs attached)

3) Any relevant fitting information: CR battery accessed via removing main underside panel. Circuit board requires careful removal and then de-soldering and replacement of CR battery which has legs attached.

4) Reset info: Initialization: Hold down SW1 and SW2 while turning it on. / Preload: Preload screen in global mode.

1) Model of Synth : Korg Trident MK-2

2) Battery Type (ie CR2032) : Varta 3.6V NI-CAD

3) Any relevant fitting information: Similar situation to the Korg Polysix. NI-CAD will corrode and damage surrounding components (sometimes fatally). NI-CAD Battery located on KLM-380A circuit board, which will need to be very carefully removed to gain access to underside solder joints.

(Trident MK1 has the same battery, but it situated in a different location).
