It's Korg. That's a new Kronos underneath.

Allow me to re-post what I'd posted in the main Karp thread:

Notice the Kronos LS too, and the red Vox Continental Korg had already shown at NAMM. These appear to be from Korg at MusicFair " 楽器フェア " 2016 in Japan.

Interesting. I get the feeling that that ARP line is maybe far from done.

I forecast $1599 USD. I hope it's cheaper but I can't see it.

Still, I will probably buy it. I love the Odyssey sound, and I just don't like playing on mini keys. I was a pretty loud whiner when the little "kARP" was introduced a year ago, so I'm kinda committed...

If you already purchased the mini-keys version, the FS stands for "F*ck's Sake!"

Ah, Korg has been reading my posts. Very good.

It's not even so much about playability than making an icon of a synth look like a toy.

I really hope many will buy it. I have a feeling Korg could be testing waters for bigger ARPs (2600, etc.) with this more pro edition.

You know, I really doubt they might - even here on GS. At last, a non-hamstrung proper 1:1 remake like the new model D - it just makes sense. No stupidity, no falling at the last fence just to **** something up that's otherwise the thing that people were actually asking for all along. This is simply just a good thing, no more no less. It actually feels like a physical relief somehow!

A new Kronos? As in a new version of the Kronos?

I'll make a guess and say they're reinstating the Arp name as an official product name moving forward?

Can anyone make a guess as to what that red tilted keyboard is to the right of this pic?

It's a new Vox Continental prototype. One with reverse keys floated around NAMM this year, pics on this page and elsewhere on the web.

They've been branding the Odyssey in this way all along.

A version with 88 semi-weighted keys?
Or the same light-weight action found in the KROME?

This full-sized Odyssey was actually disclosed back in March of this year at Superbooth, and I made a post about it back then:

Rough translation from the ARP (not Korg) page for Superbooth:

Quote:
Long gone from the scene, but always heard even in current productions, a legend from the 70s is back: the ARP Odyssey. A 1:1 recreation with much help from its creator David Friend brings the legendary sound of the ARP Odyssey back to life. The unique design and the many areas of application make this synth a true classic that you simply must have in your collection. We look forward to seeing you!

"1:1 recreation"? Full-size, with full-size keys?
At the time, I was surprised that there was virtually no response to the thread, and that no info about the event came out afterwards.
