Vintage Gear you would like to See reissued.

What vintage piece of gear would you like to see reissued and updated?
and what kinda features would you want to see on your newly updated fantasy gear?

Id pick The EMU sp1200 and the Mpc60 (to bad EMU is like not in existence anymore)

For updates id like to see longer sampling time in the sp1200 and maybe a silmer more modern build. that freakin thing is huge.

And on the Mpc 60 probably just more powerful hardware inside of it but same old school sound.

really the biggest advantage of reissuing vintage gear is that you essentially get the thing you want without dropping 3000-5000 dollars (or more!) on the original thing but reissues will never be 100% the original

What I would like: MemoryMoog.

What would I like updated: Just that it plays and keeps on playing. Oh and maybe some Midi.

Simple.....

Casio VL1

I'd like it to have a scientific calculator instead of the regular one. Also solar power would be sweet.

Apparently it isn't so simple. You'd have to replace the Curtis chip oscillators. for one thing.

No doubt we will eventually be offered a cleaner, thinner, less magical polyphonic Moog, which will cost as much as a small country.

When I said 'simple' I was referring to my choice not a future Memorymoog.

Indeed a 'new' Memorymoog would be a challenge and come at a cost. However I think maybe that Dave Smith with the Sequential Prophet 6 announcement may well spur Moog engineers. I would think somewhere in the R&D they are working towards a Poly, what it will be and how it will take who knows but for sure they are working on this, they can't ignore what's going on around them and the future.

Word! You got my vote. Love the sound of the MW1. Something about that 4-pole analog filter to tame those wavetables.

I'm wondering if the sudden burst of wavetable soft synths (Serum, Codex, Circle2) will bring about some serious hardware wavetable deals. We'll see.

Encouraged to see the Waldorf wavetable euro module....

I hope it can be done with the original sound --even if a new MM would probably cost, what, five grand? After watching a bunch of p6 demos (which sounded very good) I made the mistake of listening to an old Synthmania youtube with the Memorymoog, and was like: "I still want THAT."

This horse has been beaten, but: FM hardware from Yamaha. Maybe an updated version of their physical modeling stuff too.

Doesn't even have to be an exact reissue. Just get back in the game.

oh, and if mini-keys are in this year: reissue the yam dx100 and casio cz101. Just because.

For those that haven't been paying attention, it's not about the sound (of which we currently know very little), its about the size.

I'd like to see a reissued, light weight Kurzweil MidiBoard.
While they're at it, they could put the ribbons from the 2xoo series on it,
as well as modern knobs and sliders.

Also a reissue Kawai K5/K5K series with some updates would be cool.

Alesis should reissue all their synths.
