This is AWESOME. Much cooler for me than any remakes or things with mini keys.

Eric and his team do GREAT work, and Omnisphere is a brilliant instrument. AWESOME.

Those radioactive caves must have had some superpower affect on the Spectrasonics team. That's an amazing update. Sound match is a clever idea.

I have been waiting years for this. This update is the clearest no brainer I have seen for me coming out of NAMM this year.

Wow, this sounds excellent. Was looking to see if NAMM would bring a killer bit of hardware in my price bracket but doesn't seem to be. This plus a good midi controller would be utterly tremendous in my hybrid set up. So very tempting.

I would love those new filters to be of the killer variety. All-New Eric's brief tweak sounds promising.

To me, this is the best NAMM news and the most innovative synth release so far! The price for the upgrade is incredibly low.

I agree about it being the most innovative synth at NAMM- but it won't matter here at GS as the herd goes crazy over anything with 50 year old analog technology and isn't even interested in the future of sound.

If GS is any indication, then musicians seem to be pretty innovation-phobic when it comes right down to it. I have only been in music for 3-4 years so maybe that's why I still look for exciting new types of sounds instead of reliving the oldies. So glad I am not part of the analog herd.

BTW- The Sound Match feature is an idea I wrote about here on a thread 2 years ago. I am sure many others have had the idea too. I wonder if any of the things posters here write about ever lead to new inventions.

Yeah, even though this is GS not KVR forum, I can't help but say that this actually the NAMM winner by a factor of a thousand.

Be cool if they would partner with Akai or someone & come up with a Kontrol type "hybrid" interface.

Agreed... you can do it on an ipad but that's really not the same.

v2 looks awesome, definitely a must buy controller or not. But oh man, if it had a custom controller it would be take the tits factor through the roof.

Amazing.

The "sampler" part is kinda V-Synth.

This makes me wanna stop using reason and start using VSTi's instead.

Amazing software. One of the most creative tools I've ever seen. Have been wanting o get this for a long time. Might bite the bullet and get it now.

Eric looks like he has been on a health kick program. He has lost a lot of weight and looks much younger and healthy. Grats Eric.

Really impressive, I am quite interested. If they offer downloads and not only boxed version I would get it, living outside of the US or Europe makes things quite expensive.

My read on it is $249 for the update unless you have all 3 plugs, then it's the 'VIP $199' pricing. It's on the website in the tech section or something (can't recall its name)

But it also sounds like to get the VIP discount, none of your licenses can be a 'transferred' license.

So will they put this on an external harddisk or do you need 20 DVDs (what's the size?)

The granular bit is interesting; it's almost as if Persing & co looked long at the V-Synth, thought "we need this and Roland's not going to use it".

The only downside is that you're probably going to hear this all over soundtracks and background music in the coming years heh

Omnisphere 1 was announced in.. 2008? Nearly 7 years and updated, that's a really good track record for a company.

Haha probably yes, but the most appealing thing to me, is 10 oscillators with over 400 waveforms!
The unison mode sounded absolutely gorgeous IMO.

The upgrade looks crazy good. Omnisphere is my most used softsynth, and now I'll be using it even more. What a kick ass company Spectrasonics really is.
