Very cool! Module ms20 and sequencer...lots of fun! I reckon about £750 for that module and maybe £150 for the sequencer?

It says that it's a desktop KIT version of the mini, but don't the jacks look larger?

What's really interesting though are the following new features listed in the product page:

Quote:
  • Toggle switches for VCO 1 to 2 sync / VCO 1 to 2 FM
  • Toggle to switch between rev 1 and rev 2 filter designs
  • Adds junction patching bay for integration with SQ-1 Step Sequencer (included)
EDIT: Conflicting info on that page:

Nice! I hope it won't be a limited edition.

It's got the filter switch too, yea!

So I guess this is for people who refused to buy anything except full size keys.

Sequencer looks neat, but perhaps a little finicky, knobs aren't exactly Moog size.

Wait, what?

Seriously, what?

This looks really ****ing cool, I hope the SQ-1 is sold separately, too.

Looks like the SQ-1 uses V/Oct as well as Hz/V, and built in CV quantisation. Cool!

It has a 'for more info' button that goes to Korg's Australian website. There's no info there - premature leak?

If it's a Mini without the keyboard plus it is in kit format, it should be cheaper than the mini. Add the SQ1 plus some extra features (patch points, dual filter, etc) should bring it again up to around the same price as the Mini.

I don't think it's a mini - it has full sized jacks.

w.W.W.WTF!!!

Could it be a small SQ-10 in monotribe format with cv and both control voltage types?

This is awesome. This is perhaps the one time, smaller format is better suited.

Very interested in this. Hope it isn't expensive.

Korg are on fire!!!

Littlebits out, MIDI out, CV out and sync for Volcas. Korg will sell quite a few of these, methinks.

i agree! didnt see this one coming - i wonder what else they've got brewing in their design department? I would love to know

seq looks nice - 2 cv outs, with volt range & chromatic/major/minor/linear modes, looks like octave lights maybe on the left? or they may be bar lights as there are 4 of them?

and anything ms is good with me - IF they ever make a limited PS3300 kit/full run mini im going to explode

Minijacks on the SQ1
Full size on the MS-20M

Look in the bottom right hand corner of the video at the start and you'll see a minijack next to a full size one. Seems there are a few sets of 'Junctions' - multiples to jumble format..

The Sq-10 had 3 rows of 12... this has 2 rows of 8.....
Also no slide or gate lengths etc.. not really very exciting
Keyboard less Ms20 is fine addition...

Hope the Odyssey sounds as good as the original!

now the additional, unconnected patch points on the MS20 kit motherboard make sense...

this desktop reincarnation provides 14 covered holes (on the front panel, left hand side) for exactly these additional sockets / patch points to be used.

so,wait - this isnt an MS50 is it - its an MS20 with a few extras - the MS50 was a lot more patchable, 1 vco, right?

i like the fact they have more holes in the case but stopped up in case of mods

Wondering why they thought the MS20m is a better move than the MS-50- (beyond obvious R&D costs)....

If I am understanding some of the major differences between the MS-50 and this new MS-20 module>

MS-20M:

1 ADSR + 1 AR
2 VCOs
non-patchable Ringmod
no PWM
Envelope follower
only Hz/volt

MS-50:
2x ADSR envelopes
1 VCO
Patchable Ring Mod
PWM
Integrator
1V/oct inputs

Interesting...

I'd been thinking for a while a new MS-50 would be great...I like the looks of this too, if only they'd add in the pwm. Depending on price I'd sell my ms-20 mini and get this, form factor is more appealing.

id say some of the major differences are in the patching -

for some reason this image comes up small, but there are individual outputs for waves & inputs for attack/decay/release/hold etc

Yeah I'd honestly prefer the 50 for the increased modularity...but that's just dreaming.
