People have been discussing the serial numbers of their MS-20 Minis in the thread here. For example mine's just shy of 10,000 and I already bought it last year. Of course this isn't the most scientific method, but seeing as they were out of stock in most stores during winter the serial number should map quite well to the amount sold.

Now that the same stores have dozens of units in stock this method is even less reliable.

Speaking as someone with a limited synth budget, I'd be thrilled if they get the sound and build quality right, even if it's mini-keys.

Can see why some here would rather have a module. fwiw, the later Korg mini-keyboard (e.g., Microkorg XL) isn't bad.

Korg is not going to make a mini version like they did with the MS20.

According to my source, actually this time they have decided to make it 20% larger than the original ARP.

Except for the increased size, all specs will be exactly as the original, although MIDI capabilities are likely to be included.
Uhhh.... source?

Of course it won't.

Because many geniuses here will have decided that way before before even hearing it.

Perhaps Korg should mothball the entire batch, and release them in 30 years so the components can age and sound better?

So basically this is a whole new thread, pages long, that contains absolutely no new facts or opinions than the other karp thread?

Well according to what I learned on GS nobody wants an analog synth these days, and so presumably MS20 mini hasn't sold barely a single unit, and Korg will soon go out of business trying to sell these "boutique" synths to social outcasts on gear forums...

Either that or they're completely wrong and people are buying analog like it's the last potato in communist Russia...

I'm saving for the Korg ARP right now, it's so amazing, I can hardly wait! I bet they will have some groovy colours as well, like black keys n stuff like that )

To the OP: Nice troll!

According to my source, the Korg ARP will have keys (some of which will be black, and (controversially) others white). It will make sounds, and have outputs. It may or may not have the words Korg and/or ARP on it, but my source tells me we'll be happy with their decision.

The same source told me the sun will rise tomorrow morning, and set later in the day.

I think they should start aging their analog synths in charred wood barrels. Let those tannins seep in.

if you're going to age, i suggest adding brettanomyces to sour the flavor. perhaps this imperfection will cause purist bud lite drinkers to abandon the project resulting in a staggering price drop.

That's why it's known as 'karping on' - this is looking like turning into a bit of an od.... oh, nevermind.

If he was sending it to Synth Spa, his source would be saying, "Goodbye! It's been nice knowing you!"

Fascinating. Will it require audio and midi cables?
