How is the new beta different from the old beta which I've been using for a long time? Just GUI? Or is there even a new beta?

"Old beta" wasn't beta at all. That was 0.6 alpha. The GUI is different and some other changes happened, too (LFOs have separate outputs per waveform, filters react differently, 2 dual lag processors instead of 4 individual ones, pan and resonance can now be modulated via patch cable, etc.)

There is a new beta. Odds and ends fixes have been applied. There is still some functionality missing but overall it's close to release.

You mean Spring Reverb...

Really, the biggest difference is the filter. Honestly the alpha version was completely uninteresting to me sonically. The new beta with Urs' new filter is unreal good, probably my favorite synth even over Diva. Really incredible.

Urs said he will put up the new Bazille link sometime today.

I've been using the 0.6 Bazille for a while with a mod someone added that shows up the hidden multicore mode onto the old GUI makes a huge difference to CPU load although really the load is the same just the CPU load is spread over as many cores and threads as you have.

Intro price looks like it's going to be 75 bucks which is pretty good, but I really don't need more plugins and my wallet could use a rest as well. Still, I should really check this out.

There is no link. I assume its to much work for them now. But you can order it directly via Email and you will get a 30 Percent discount. Urs said: "Sheesh… we'll need some time to answer all those emails… "

I would say it is clever to wait until monday. Bazille beta serial. First try out.

(i think Bazille sounds a bit strange, not very "analog", not very "FM", somehow somthing strange in between)

The point of Bazille is not to sound "analog", it's a PD/FM hybrid after all.

Yup just installed Bazille you can try it for free no restrictions until the end on June.
Its got multicore mode which runs each voice on it's own core preventing one core from being overloaded.
text aliasing so that all the GUI stays sharp even in full screen mode.
Only 2 presets but this is made for creating.

Bazille is digital FM Oscillators with analogue filters and based on the use of a Roland system 100m.
Still to come is an alternative gear porn skin

£70 intro price in the UK bare in mind 19% of that is government tax to pay for MPs second homes. That's stupid low for a soft synth of this quality really liking the fractal controls in Bazille no idea what it is or what it's doing but I like it.

I made a sound with it that sounds like a person singing wow sounded soo musical. Most of the modules I've never heard of before but they do some strange nice things to the sounds. You could make a killer vox pad with this layered with DIVA. if you didn't take to Bazille 0.6 alpha you should try Bazille again it's far better now.

I just spent an hour with it. It's a fantastic sonic playground with a fitting GUI. Everything is clearly laid-out - just jump-in and experiment. Great fun.

If we don't understand 70% of the modules and what they do, how are our users supposed to? We really tried to make that bongo sound the other day, but it seems beyond our comprehension. There's something about the Buchla stuff that we simply don't seem to get - it's simply not what we're good at.

(Which doesn't explain why nobody else is doing it. Someone should, I guess)

Well now that this and Kaivo are out, we're one step closer to the Berlin Modular system from U-He and the mooted new modular synth from Madrona Labs. Though when I say one step closer I do mean a few years away still :-P

I think perhaps the increased prices of Bazille and Kaivo, in comparison to Ace and Aalto, show why there's still big gaps in the modular plugin market. It's an awful lot of work for something that may not sell hugely.

Tis not intended to, no?

Each uHe offering just has something that sets it apart from what other developers offer. Diva is the sound, and the ability to mix and match portions of classic synths. MS-20 oscillators running into JP-8 filter works for me every time. Zebra has many unique features but the ability to individually impact the attack, decay, sustain, release, and fall/rise on all envelopes with both velocity and by keytrack, is just too much. It turns a MIDI performance into something that sounds so alive. Set your DAWs velocity to random varying by 30-40, and the looped performance never sounds the same, ever.

I can't wait to get busy with this. In the middle of so many things right now, though.

Glad this is ready and looking forward to Zebra3.

Best software instruments....no contest really.
