The Wolf is far too clever to be heard.

Until it is too late.

Here for the gear

Im just going to trow this out there and say i rather like the look, silver and all. I wouldnt want to use the all black version in a dark club with strobes and blacklights.

Worried that after the Volca frenzy, these wont be available without a preorder until the end of the year. (espcially up here in Canada)

Likewise, I think it looks great as is. It's got that whole Russian WWII propaganda poster look going on, haha.

But to bring things technically back on topic...

Can I MIDI slave this to my RY30? I think that'd be killer, can also send a rimshot out of one of the RY's assignable outs to control my Yamaha ED10, a great analogue drum synth with lovely white noise and ring mod.

I love a hybrid digilogue sound.

I think AKAI have got it right with a heavy metal case. I tried a TR-8 today and it weighs very little. It's a psychological thing but the wolf looks to have a bit of old school heftiness about it!

Seems like you would be able to do that. The two together would make a great pair.

They just didn't want to admit that it's just a concept for now that doesn't make any sound. After they claimed to have had "a voltage accident" that supposedly fried the only prototype they had available, CDM posted a video showing the sequencer actually running but with no sound. CDM also mentioned a quote from Akai confirming that it's still an unfinished prototype saying that the "howl" knob would have "Diode based distortion (preliminary – might change)".

Knowing Akai's track record, it's highly unlikely this thing will even be available within this year anyway.

I posted this a long time ago in another thread.

I like Moog, not crazy about the modern sound that much but I respect and like them. I like some things I've heard from their Sub Phatty and Slim.

Anyway if you watch this documentary done by Moog themselves you'll see that they mention that the Little Phatty was almost not ready to show at NAMM. In fact they talk about literally soldering the night before to make it work.

What happened to Akai could have happened to Moog.

Food for though. Just saying.

i hate it when companies scramble like that to meet artificial deadlines. they take shortcuts. it's all about profit. that's the name of the game!!! oh well. as long as things can be fixed with an update then it's not too bad. that's one of the countless benefits of VA!!

I think it is more likely they didn't want the sound compared to the Airas, because it probably couldn't compete.

I hope Puppy would sound more Analog Rytm than 909/808 clone.
That rubbery bouncy kick is awesome.

Unfortunately Puppy is probably more towards 606 territory.
(Prove me wrong, AKai!!!)
