at least we know what technology is used for sound generation, analog. you know, simple as that. not much place left there for the marketing nerds to get creative :D

(which I did)
Yeah but 90% of consumers wouldn't. Low price = more sales, and the few people like you that would pay more can always mod it themselves or get it modded online.

That's what I don't like when they are made to fit such a low price point: the omission of ue. :(

IF.

It's being done the way that each track sends its note ons/offs out from the unit, with the bass track sending notes on a separate MIDI channel from the drums.

Meaning, duplicates of what the unit is telling itself to play.

In other words, no way to combine this and the MPX16 into a "budget AR" without another sequencer to sequence the sampler.
So did you bother to watch THIS video?

Looks like it DOES sequence external gear and does so using MIDI AND gate trigger. SWEEEEEET. And for only $200.

What say you now????

Told you.

Now plug it into your subjective future analog Poly from Korg that they will make someday in the future. Or if you want plug it into your other subjective future synths like an Poly analog Moog or Poly Analog Arturia Poly Brute. You choose. It all sounds great now.

Drat, I was hoping for Bill Brufords. Maybe if they make a more premium model?

Your tagline says 'I love cheap synths,' but I get the impression that this because they give you something to sneer about so you can feel good about yourself. I've been wondering when you'd show up with a comment like this, and sure enough I didn't have to wait long.

I'm fine with it. I don't mind mono drums by default at all at this price. It's the right choice to keep costs low, and it's not too hard to find frequency-based autopanner effects. To be honest I often leave drums in mono and just put some reverb on the mids and a slow ping-pong delay on the high end.

No, it doesn't say that it can sequence external gear.

It says that it can send/receive clock via MIDI and gate, for sync, not for sequencing.

I'd like it to sequence external gear as much as you do, but I didn't hear anything about dedicated channels for that in this video. Or anything at all about MIDI sequencing really. He's mentioned that the unit can be a MIDI master or slave, which explains both MIDI ports.

Keep looking though; I want you to be right.

EDIT: since it only has one trigger output, if that was for sequencing (it's for syncing) you would only be able to sequence one sound with it. And not the MPX16, since that hasn't got such an input.

It is a single gate output, it doesn't have a CV output for pitch.

You wouldn't be able to sequence any sound with it.

It is for an analogue sync pulse.

LOL yes

Akai Wolf for low cost drum machine.
Elektron RTYM for boutique drum machine.
Roland recycled digital technology drum machine for the posers.

This is what's wrong with the quote system. He says the first part then the whole joke is the second part. The new quote system cuts off his quote and it makes my response look like I'm replying to a different part instead of the whole thing.

What a mess.

GS needs a creative director.

They make us use a mobile page which makes us scroll more. Then they make this quote thing which makes us click more to expand it.

Ok now as I edited this response it expanded the quote when earlier it showed only part of it. What's going on?

I agree. This new buggy quote system is just awful. They should just revert it the old quoting system.
