According to a new UT vid (still no audio!) the wood sides are not real wood, and unscrewable/changeable.
Apparently the bd endless encoder is for inputting note pitches to the bass synth? But if so then why are there keyb markings on the step seq rows?

The bastards had power plugged in but wouldn't let us hear anything! Akai musta told everyone not to leak the sounds early, sadists..

I love 70's fake wood stuff, very kitschy, mono/poly, atari 2600, etc

GIMME THIS MACHINE!

Doesn't the dude in that video say that the sides come off easily, if you wan't to replace them with you own ones?

Plus I can see the screws on the sides!

By 'unscrew' I think he meant screw them off.

I wish akai didn't stop putting gear out in the IBM tan color they used in the late 80s/90s.

Makes my studio look like a science lab and not such a warehouse rAve.

You can use either, he said the knob was for programming in step mode.

Probably plenty.

Besides, the TR8 is available now. In the video the Akai rep said the Wolf would "probably be out in July or so".

You can wait. I'm gonna go pound out some 808 beats while you're waiting for the next 5 or 6 months.

Peace,
Frankie

If the sound is right I'm a pretty patient guy.

The sides looks like plastic maybe? I'm gonna change them to walnut and have customsynth repaint the box for 400£
Or maybe not..

Some things are worth waiting for. A digital 808 or 303 that lacks decent saving capabilities is not it.

I hope this AKAI will be worth waiting for, but like I said previously, the cheap price is worrying, and it has a limited kit. It's a problem if you have to add other drums regardless because it lacks something as basic as a clap.

What a useless video. We know like this look like from pictures and we know specification as well.Is this still prototype or just empty shell. What we all need is the sound presentation of it..

But thanks anyway for posting.

I actually preordered TR-8 and give it a try, but this looks compact and promising for live duties. Could change my mind if it sounds cool.

Luckily you don't have to wait.

Anyway, it's all moot. I'm a musician. I make music. I don't complain about gear. The TR8 kills. In 5 or 6 months when this comes out, if it sounds good, for 2 bills I'll add it to my set up too and make music with it.

Peace,
Frank

It looks like the machine do not make sounds because they had an accident (that probably damaged the unit).

they will sell a ton, the Rhythm Wolf when you get down to it, is more like a Rhythm Puppy it's very limited, too limited really. Once you get past the novelty of OMG IT'S ANALOG it's just another cheap toy, funny how the so called analog revival is dominated by cheap happy meal products

Whatever, I'll make this puppy work out some elektro-**** with my SH-101, which incidentally is another analog happy meal product!

And it's gonna rock hard!
