I guess you missed the news... The Sub 37 has been shipping the past couple of weeks. Quite a few people have already received them. Mine is arriving tomorrow.

But I get what you're saying, these manufacturers are pushing it with how far in advance they've been teasing stuff lately; it is kind of frustrating. I'm still waiting for any other bit of news on the Korg Arp Odyssey.

However, I will be away for 3 weeks (vacation time). When i get back from the sea, it's demo time. I can keep the unit, so really not working under the pressure. But will try my best to make it ASAP.

Stay tuned...

Something that size could fit in luggage along with a small controller and headphones. Or is that too much like taking work with you on vacation? I try to pack a small synth that I've neglected and catch up with it during any dead time of a long holiday.

Don, you have to blur your name and address more. Your first name and city are still readable with only a little effort

Yes, something dry without any effects preferably DI'd so we can hear the raw tone. Cheers!

I also liked the patch at 4:50.
It sounds pretty epic, I'm gonna have to get one of these, and a cape.

So, USB power only? What would be the cheapest and smallest way to get it powered? Without a computer I mean.

Some really great sounds here! All of them are great, actually ... I am definitely getting one ASAP ...

It comes with supplied socket (plug) adapters you connect to your power strip (3 different adapters are supplied, 1 x UK, 1 x europlug and 1 x american), it looks much like a Mobile phone charger unit with a USB connection so to speak.

Aah ok! Someone said it comes with no power supply. Thanks for the clarification!

Great ))
Now there's some GAS. And it's another example of how a budget device can move me a lot more than a 1.5 k device...

It's interesting ; this is basically a correct rehabilitation of divide-down technology. It seems at least half the sound is in the divide-down implementation, and in the artefacts of a paraphonic way of doing things when you combine this with effects, so even with a digital oscillator it still doesn't sound like any of the other digital synths on the market, hardware or software. With the near hundred monos around, I hope we see more like this in different forms, whether analog or digital oscillator, and with new features, and less about how 'stringers' are "just organ technology", and all the other cliches that have stopped development for 30 years.

Haha! Ok you win. I will pull up something later today. But can't promise a long demo....

No, actually can't take it to the sea. I sleep in the forest. My only utilities there are scorpions, Black Widow spiders and snakes. I sleep in the house only if bad weather. During the day you'd had to use chains to keep me in the house. So no demo there that's for sure.

It does sound good, but aside from having knobs still not sure if it's any better than Amber or the XILS-LAB VP-330 emulator. Thoughts?

Some nice sounds in the demo but unfortunately and as I expected there is no vp330 emulation in there, the still unobtainable machine... Its sound and the chorus ensemble are just too special. Streichfett sounds more like ARP/Solina and the like. But maybe waldorf will bring vp sounds as an update? At least one can hope.

Streichfett does not require a computer, iLok or elicenser to work, that's the difference.

Besides Waldorf has stated themselves, that the Streichfett does not do 1:1 emulations of the classic string machines, it can sound like them but not 100% like them. It has it's own character.

If you want the VP-330 sound, it's either buy a real one, use multisamples of one or buy a VSTi version of one.

The choir does not sound like a VP-330 at all though, perhaps only 50% there or so. Maybe Waldorf can address this one in updates to the Streichfett. I will record the choir (raw) and post up later.
