There seem to be several people (like me) who had a few synths in the 80's, took a break in the 90s, and got back into electronic music quite recently.

Incidentally, I was actually attempting to use my computer in mid 80s as a proto-DAW. I had a drum machine, a sequencer and a sampler for my Sinclair Spectrum

For this reason, I think, I've never subscribed to the "older must be better" attitude that is so common on this forum. I am thrilled with the latest equipment and sorry that we never had it back in the "good old days".

Nope, mine was in the 80's. For the life of me I look back and don't understand how I was able to pay for the gear I had. It was during the time when everyone was flocking to the newer digital gear and dumping their analog gear for nothing. I think I got my Prophet 5 rev2 for somewhere between 600.00-800.00 USD. I lived very modestly, but I had some great gear.

Love the gear I have now just as much.

$6551 I believe. And yes I did a local pick up on eBay. It was worth every penny!
