Wally is an amazing player, and all his sounds were very warm, so this should put an end to the rev 2 obsession.
Coincidently a rev3 nowadays (well at least rev3.3) will cost you very close as the rev2. Not sure why is that, perhaps musical trends (funk / retro revival?). I always liked the deeper sound of rev2, but if i was to make funk (or hip hop for that matter) i would, without any hesitation go with rev 3. Because it is instantly that 80s funk sound as heard from a record. Never the less the price of rev3 series has doubled during the last 4 years. While the rev2 just slightly increased. So i guess the obsession ended.
