A few more knobs would have been nice i think at that price...Fine on the Tetra etc but not really great on something this pricey that demands hands on control. Would much rather it was like the P08 module which was well knobby!

I was thinking exactly the same thing.

But I suppose Dave doesn't want this one to cannibalize the big daddy too much.

A bit disappointing that such an in depth synth has so little hands on control

I think it could be OK since it has that OLED screen and four knobs. I actually think it might be faster to program than many think, thanks to that layout.

In the very first moment I looked at I was a little disappointed but upon a second look, it seems pretty intuitive. Pots for the most important functions I would have added a 3rd for Envelope depth on the filter (4 across the OLED will do ADSR amongst many other things obviously)

It would wanna be VERY cheap compared to say the P08 rack when it came out, given significantly fewer knobs.

I'm actually quite interested in this.

I find the Mopho desktop interface to be more than I ever want to wrangle with, so I'd disagree there.

I'll pass on this.

If there will be a VST editor I am 100% game!!!!!

I don't touch any synths in my rack anyway, I have VST editors for very single one. Then to my other side all my keyboards with knobs I use with my hands.

I'm skeptical about the lack of knobs on this thing. A lot of the individual functions have at least 5+ knobs. So with 4 menu-based knobs, that means they'll likely be a bunch of extra page diving.

But I guess we'll wait and see how it turns out.

If these are assignable knobs like on the Mopho/Tetra, DSI have gone full ******.

The interface is quite different from the Mopho/Tetr4. This one has buttons for direct access to each section. Night and day.

Great, sooner than I expected

The UI is very similar to Waldorf Blofeld, though the buttons arranged in more logical way, which is very nice

I don't understand the pricing, sorry. Errrrr what?
2000 euros?!
I mean the full prophet 12 costs 2700 euros on Thomann.
So what is dave saying? That 700 euros difference is what gives you the keyboard, extra knobs, pitch & mod wheels, and those touch sliders to the far left?
I think it's more in the ratio of what the polyevolver rack was to the polyevolver keyboard. The PEK was 2400$, and the PER was exactly half.

It would be nice if this piece offered something uniquely different from the keyboard like different voice allocation modes or filter cascading options, etc

expensive but still I like the idea of the P12 and definitley cannot add a keybed to my setup (at 4 keybeds, I already feel like I need a cape and a blonde whig...).

I begged for a rack version, and here it is.

I'll maybe wait for some moron to mis-buy and panic-sell it

The lack of knobs is definitely a disappointment, but since Dave mentions it is still a prototype, they will hopefully reconsider adding some control. I also agree it would be smart to add some unique features to the module, I would vote for step sequencer, it is sorely missing on the key version and the OLED would be great for that, also add a touch strip..

I'm sorry, I didn't notice the knobs, because I was too busy staring at Dave Smith's startling lack of facial hair. WTF?

And where is the whiskey in the background?

You've changed, Dave. I don't like it.

i'm interested.

nice space saving version.

ideal for slutz like me who have run out of space for keyboards.

the keyboard is £2,299 in the UK, so the module will need to be £1,500 tops.

It's so tiny.

But it does also show why the Ambika could be a more attractive proposal for the right person.
