What does this TAE has to do with a real analog synth ? Is it an effing VA?

And who else has an analog synth with patch points in the $300 range?

Cheaper is good. Patchable mod matrix is even better because I haz an analog 4 which puts out CV, so I save on the features I don't want. Pattern sequencer is good. Osc FM was one of the few things missing from the first one. Can't quite see if it has external audio input to the filter, I hope so. I will almost certainly get one although I don't like mini-keys. I have wanted to get a MiniBrute for quite a while and a mod matrix + osc FM are exactly what I was missing on that device. If the $300 price point is correct then it's actually much better value for me than the original.

UPDATE: if it's a VA then ignore everything I just said :-(

Really don't get the point. The Minibrute is already small and cheap. I'd much rather see a 2 osc version or a poly.

Dont understand the decision to go smaller and cheaper. I mean, I guess its just business... but a fully MIDIfied 6-12 voice polybrute rack or desktop module for $1500ish would be a snap buy for a lot of us on here...

If that actually really is what it is, the microbrute, i like the idea.

I have the minibrute & it pushes my buttons more than any other recent synth in that price range. I just like its sound & don't care for presets.
I can see why people wonder what the point is here. I do a bit too but at the right price it might be a lot of fun. It also looks to have 2 interesting features !

If i understand everything, the combo mini/micro gives me 2 osc, 2 filters, 2 lfo, polyphony x2, 1 arp, 1 sequencer.
The microbrute is also a full midi master keyboard, knobs included, as it includes analog lab and Arturia's TAE technology, while the original mini's knobs didn't transmit midi.

Then i think it's great. It's definitely useful. The combo is cheap and blows any other modern analog mono currently on the market in the same price range.

And here I was gearing myself up for a 16-voice poly analog monster.

Darn you Arturia! You owe me new expectations! *shakes fist in mock anger*

But given it has mini-keys, it makes little sense.

I know a lot of people bitched about 2 octave minibrute's keybed 2 years ago and now we're a lot to be happy it actually has a keyboard and aftertouch after all.

I wouldn't yell about these mini keys yet. We'll find a use.

I really hope you are right about this mini/micro brute combo. It would definitely be a good deal, especially for existing minibrute owners

Mmmm, I don't like this move but I understand it.

If they really release a smaller version of the minibrute they can keep it. I got my Minibrute from guitar center and I opened the box to a broken synth.

I returned it the next day, I'm not interested in another smaller synth, especially a mono one with keys, make it a module at least, jeez!

That LED could double as a push-button power-toggle...
Come to think of it, if they did that knob as a pot but with power on/off at 0, that might do it!

I'm into it. I miss the MiniBrute I used to have. I can't really justify having two monos, but something small like this for $300 is pretty hard to pass up.

I doubt it's a VA, the TAE stuff must have to do with included software they bundle, right?

what an utter dissapointment. barffff.

wasnt expecting a polybrute really, but.. a beefed up maxibrute with two oscillators, sync and fm options for vcf/vco, and 3 octaves. .. would have been nice. phukit.

I almost wonder if they could be doing a line of brutes or something. That one quote about drum machines isn't sitting right with the current info.
