TAKE ACTION on ROLAND'S page and request an analog Friday May 17

We all talk about how we want Roland to hear us, well lets do something about it!

On Friday May 17, 2013 post up on Roland's main Facebook page your request for an analog. If you are a former Roland fan but are unhappy with their direction let them know too.

Anything else you'd like to post that day is encouraged.

Admittedly, it would be very cool if Roland cranked out a full on analog SH5 re release (similar to the MS20 from Korg).. They won't be doing another Poly..They have already done their poly. Don't hold your breathe

agreed, hate to be a negative Nancy but roland has made it pretty clear that they only really care about making bull**** keyboards

the only ties to their classic products are the names, and they've bastardized them real good

you can't even really say that they make synthesizers anymore with the exception of GAIA which is.. eh

oh well, at least we have Z3ta+ heh

I'm really not fussed.

Theres plenty of other manufactuers making decent analogues now.

Are you really sure, making a new analogue unit after all this time would automatically be that good from a company that, other than the brand name is a totally different setup now?

Roland had their day as far as im concerned.

Roland actually prefer Korg to reissue their old products for them, only 1/8 their size. They call Korg, "mini-me"

I lost all hope that ROLAND will make a great 'Digital' Synth or workstation.

Now.. to expect them to make a great sounding 'Analog' synth. is kind of mission-impossible, with the later part getting the emphasis.

Good Luck convincing them

I think Roland will always be mentioned in the scene or whatever, they made lots of great products in the past and it is all being used heavily today so I don't think people will cease to talk about it and would want them to make gear along thoes lines (the classic stuff).

With the latest offerings it's all been kind of meh but particularly the GAIA SH-01 I feel like its almost there to being really good gear, I actually hope that it sold well and was kind of testing the waters for that kind of gear (return of knob per function interface which I thought was sagnificant).

I just hope they listen and put out a more featured SH-09 or knobby JX-3P.

Surely they are aware that analog is hot right now when it is so self evident.

Roland went to enormous lengths when the Jupiter 80 came out to emphasize that they had really been primarily about emulation of extant acoustic and electric instruments from moment one.

Naturally they recognize and are quite proud of their classic analog machines with the "accidental mojo" they contained that completely transformed pop and dance music, but they are clearly entrenched at this point in making digital instruments that emulate so well that they "pass" for the real thing.

Roland has completely lost the plot with analog, move along, go back in your homes, there's nothing left to see here...

I agree with encouraging Roland to NOT completely lose the plot with the V-Synth -- there's so much more that could be done with this brilliant instrument, and I'm afraid that they may have taken its concept as far as they are going to with the GT.

I have to wonder if someone will dig this thread up in 2 or 3 years and we will all laugh about how negative everyone was. I seem to recall there being a thread hoping for a new MS-20 release from Korg and everyone laughed at the OP at the time.

Good times... heh

Just because you think you know what Roland is doing/thinking doesn't mean you're right. Why not give it a shot if you actually want to see new Roland analogs?

Here's the worse thing that will happen: They will continue to not listen.

Not too much different from they are doing now, eh? Oh, well I guess you would have wasted 10 seconds posting on Facebook...

On second thought, it's not worth it. I need those 10 seconds to tell people on GS why Roland won't listen!

I don't think Roland are going to sit back now and lose market share to Korg with there little Volca series TB-303 ripoffs.

Korg will sell a ****load of these and they know it.

Hell I'm a Roland guy myself and have even placed a preorder.

They will be back mark my word within 2 years.

Especially for all the doomsday's that said analogue was dead.

To the above poster. If you really get under the hood of the Jupiter 80 you will find that it superseded the GT but is seriously capable of much more.

Cheers
