Played with one at the MusicStore Koln. I must say it sounds pretty convincible. Build quality not so great, esp. those wobbly buttons. But still a fun thing to have.

It's on my "maybe in the future/2nd hand" list...

Here's a little acid jam i've been working on this weekend.

808, 606, TT303, Volca Keys and Volca Beats.

The 808 kick is backed up with the beats kick. They sound awesome together. 808 has the low end and decay covered but the beats really helps to add punch.

I have the TT going through a Colorsound Overdriver.

She screams nicely though the colorsound.

This is all an OTB mix. Master sync was sent via Numerology to the TT and a din sync converter box. All mixing was done live. Then recorded straight into quicktime.

Good to see a firmware update has been provided however there is no tap time...

It's probably worth contacting Cyclone Analogic and requesting they add this to the next firmware update- The more people that ask for it the more chance they may do it.

That video is a funny joke almost as funny as the machine.
What pierre thinking, the better pay him big dollar for this

Anyway my friend have the TT and he bring to my house yesterday and soorry fans of the TT but this machine sound not like real 303. If you think it does line up next to a real one
Now set the cutoff half way, resonance 3 quaters with envelope doing full circular motion and tell me if it sound like a real 303

I also don't think it sounds like a real 303

at some points it is even better sounding than a Xoxbox, but at other points the Xoxbox sounds better...

for the Xox'es you can say the same as for the real 303 - no one sounds complete identical like the other, depending on building parts and so on...

for the BassBot you can say - they all sound complete identical


But both don't sound complete identical to a 303

But the BassBot looks more identical, that's right


But with all of them you can do good acid

It's a bit weird. The update made my TT sonicwise a lot better. I use it through midi from ableton. But I have to turn the tuning knob 50% to the right to tune it properly.


I'd like to post a track I made with the ABL vst and replaced with the TT303 for this mix.

Imo the track has a lot more to offer than it has right now. So it's far from its final version. Also uploading to soundcloud completely made the lower bass disappear.

I had the same issue after I did the update, but the auto tuning procedure fixed it. From the manual:

Automatic Tuning ([FUNCTION] + [C#])
The Bass Bot can self-calibrate its tuning. Set the Mode switch to MIDI mode. Set the Tuning control knob to the center position. Turn off and back on again the power before tuning. Then press [FUNCTION] + [C#]. The Function and C# LEDs will light up for a few seconds. When these LEDs turn off, your Bass Bot will be in tune with accuracy of ± 5 cents. Take a few seconds to check the tuning’s accuracy using a tuner or by ear by pressing the keys on the keyboard after completion. If the desired accuracy is not achieved with the first tuning, very slightly adjust the Tuning knob then run the automatic tuning function a second or third time. They keyboard's low C is a C2 note and it should be 65.4Hz when accurately tuned. If it remains improperly tuned. Turn the power off and back on and try a few more times to induce recalibration.

Imo the track has a lot more to offer than it has right now. So it's far from its final version. Also uploading to soundcloud completely made the lower bass disappear.



Like it jackyNIX ...good showcase of the TT 303 in real life ... still haven t done the update myself ( mac user here and waiting for the osx version ) ...

I seem to be having problems with mine.

Sending midi to it, it just seems out of sync.

I could have sworn I was able to trigger patterns via midi clock but I can't do that anymore.

Sometimes the sound totally cuts out. Turning it off and back on fixes that.

I haven't done the upgrade yet as I don't have a pc with midi available.

I'm starting to get worried!! I keep trying to work on tracks but it's driving me crazy and I just shut the beast off.

Patterns can be triggered via midi clock right? I know that must be how I've made my tracks. Midi clock would start the currently selected pattern.

I'm hearing rumblings that these things sound rubbish through distortion pedals.
Why on earth this is I have no idea.

Can anybody confirm/deny/otherwise validate?

I know there's a previous post that discusses this but the examples are from the xoxbox if I'm not mistaken.

What do you mean rubbish? 99% of the "RATs" sound rubbish
Good distortion is a mixture of good pedal decent EQ and compression

IMHO a RAT sounds as good with a TB, a TT or even a minitaur
i think they mean that the TB squelchs a bit more default than the TT, but you can adjust a pot in the TT to get there

maybe because the unit they tested had too much DC-offset, which combined with the TT-303's accent range (which goes more than a 303) and then thru a significant amount of gain (in the distortion) results in low-freq crap
Disclaimer: that's just my theory

the TT uses BA6110, remember?
