How to make a lazer "zap" type sound???

Hello I've been trying to figure out how to make a cool lazer blaster zap type sound a la Chris Clark

Here's the example. You can hear it at 0:09

I've asked a couple of my friends but they don't seem to have a clue.

Please feel free to explain if you have other ways of making lazer zap type sounds. Much appreciated, thnkx.

It is just a sine wave with the pitch descending from very high to low, with sample and hold LFO on the oscilator and some reverb. The descending pitch can be done with a pitch envelope. There is also some other noise on top of it from the noise generator.
