How is this sound generated?

Ok very much a beginner here so apologies if this is blindly obvious.

Does anyone know how the synth sound is generated on this track (around 0:30 onwards)

Not so much the timbre but the 'random' generation of pitches. Is it a random LFO routed into the pitch, or some kind of arp or am I barking up the wrong tree? I can't figure it out, but as I said, I'm a beginner so I haven't really got a clue.

Could be arpeggiator or played by hand this way.
