If you could study/work with any producer...

Who dwould you choose to do it with?

My first picks would be Seb and Marcus from Son Kite/Minilogue.

Then Simon Posford, Chemical brothers, Moby, Air, james holden, Stephan bodzin and MAx cooper would be my favs to learn from also.

And I would like to learn composition from people like Ligetti, Terry Riley and if I could go back in time Gershwin and Debusy.

I like the sound of a few artists.

Infiniti would be one - Breakbeat artist.

Stanton warriors have a nice sound in which I would like to sit in on a session.

Cut n Run have phat breaks.

Colombo aswell.

I'm having a tough time deciding between Simon Posford, Erez Aizen from Infected Mushroom, and Trent Reznor.

Simply watching any of them at work would be an extraordinary experience (at least for me).

Flood or Alan Moulder.

Big fan of the old school U.K. synth producers.

Cool thread. Personally I'd love to chop records with Madlib and tweak some knobs with Chris Carter.

I'd probably choose to study under someone
who does something completely different
than what I can already do.

So I'd probably choose something more band/rock
oriented. First, to see how they work with 4-5 different
egos vs. their own to reach a final vision. Second,
there's a whole realm of tricks for instruments and
vocals that I don't typically use.

So...

George Martin (deceased)
Butch Vig (Nevermind, Siamese Dream)
Kevin Shields (MBV, Primal Scream)

and
Quincy Jones (Off the Wall, Thriller)
just because...

Fly on the wall, I'm still impressed with
FSOL's ISDN and The Orb's Toxygene albums

EDIT: Also, King Tubby would be a cool experience

MJ Cole, or maybe Zed Bias or Phaeleh. Though I think Phaeleh might be well into his valium nowadays, so it could get a little weird.

Charlie hangs around this site sometimes. I think he's content to do soundtrack work these days. But hey, you could always ask...

Better have a KILLER demo and lots of disposable income though.
