Distortion Plugins

Alright GS,

I've have been away from the EDM production for a couple of years now (concentrating on mastering) however, been getting serious withdrawal symptoms recently.

I have been looking for a few great distortion plugins (bit-crushers, overdrive, tube etc). Do those who are up to date have any good recommendations for me?

I love the filthy sound and will be producing electro house, hard dance and hard style.

Thanks for any advice :-)

I really love Audio Damages Kombinat - distortion, bit-reduction, saturation, fuzz, clipping etc, and you can affect the lows, mids & highs seperately:
Audio Damage :: Kombinat

Also, check out D16 Groups Devastor & Decimort:

+1 for Ohmforce too, I can happily spend hours tweaking with Ohmicide, I haven't tried Predatohm yet.

The OP wanted distortion recommendations

+1 for Devil Loc Deluxe, it's especially great at roughing up electronic drums and getting a breathing, pumping rythmic effect going.

As mentioned, D16 Decimort and Devastator.

They both add loads of life to sounds, from a bit of grit to full on shaping. I wasn't very impressed when I initially trialled them, but once you get your levels in and out right, and the dry wet under control = victory.

+1. I can always get something to sit right in the mix using Decimort and Devastor. I love both of them.

Awesome plugin indeed! I get amazing results with it in serial mode too plus I get one of the sickest and scariest gate effects ever (by turning filter, resonance and input level to max)! No other distortion plugin gives the same possibilities.

I also recommend the D16 and Audio Damage stuff. Also, Rob Papen just released RP Distort. Sounds wonderful. Includes a compressor, Filter and "Widener".
