Processing digital sounds into pseudo-analog sounds?

Hey all,

So I'm currently working ITB with Ableton and some select VSTs. I've got plugs like Ferric TDS and CamelPhat to try and add some grit to my sounds, as at the moment I can only sample from CDs. I'm trying to learn how to shape my sounds so they become warmer and resemble a more analog version of themselves.

Does anyone have recommendations for plugs or tools? I'm debating snagging the Waves MPX Master Tape plug if I can demo it for a bit, but I feel like more is necessary to give some grit and warmth to my sterile CD samples.

Buy some guitar pedals and route your sounds through them. The Moog pedals are especially good for this.

Yea you should try the MPX Master Tape plugin. I got it about a month ago and it's been working for me every since.
