Might not be in superb condition but it works, is the price too high for a unit like this?

If it's not in perfect cosmetic condition, it's too high. You can find it in mint condition on eBay for $250-300, check the completed items Used but working JD-990 for 0 - yes or no?JD-990 | eBay

Well this guys original price is $400 and he's telling me its worth more, what an asshole, thanks for the eBay links, I was going to lose money on a dirty unit (tbh his home studio looks like dirt trash).

They are good units. And if it were minty then that would be a fair price. But watch out for anyone telling you that its a really good deal. If the price was that good they could easily sell it for more.
