everyone's definition of 'hard' and 'dance' music will be different

thats why this thread is full of win

i like all kinds of electronic music... and my favorite kind is the kind i haven't heard of before

like that Reck track...it started off and i thought "oh great.. boring house music" then another bass element was added to the existing one and **** clicked... it was hard as ****... but not my usual definition of hard... when i think hard.. i guess i think 'pounding'... but listening to that bass move.. it was like a mile long steel beam being plucked by cthulu

the Rawtekk is the best of the stuff i haven't heard before though.. floored by it

so here is more of what i consider 'hard' and "dance' music

and now i'd like to up the cheese level and completely blow Scooter out of the water. this **** is so bad.. you've been warned

Your definition of "hard" is the same as mine.

Like the Necro, but that Eisenfunk video (just the video portion) is ... well, it makes their music seem cheesy.

This would be ace when you're shelving it.

Most of the tracks here are not what I consider hard

Well Aphex Twin can be pretty hard - quite an old track, I remeber buying the EP CD back in the 90s, doesn't seem to have aged much. Drums were field recordings

classic -

Didgeridoo

(yes, thanks to Germany Youtube I can't even play the proper Slayer tracks).

I went to this club on a Saturday night.
I read about it in a music magazine and they said it was wicked!
It was in a bar in Shoreditch, and it was packed.
But no one seemed to be dancing.
The music was really slow, and the beer was really expensive.
After hanging around for what seemed like forever, I finally asked the DJ:
"What kind of music is this?"
And he said:
"Progressive Electro-House Synthesis...mate, it's cool!"
And I said:
"Sounds like bull**** to me."
And he said:
"Well, fakk off then!"
So I did, hahahahahaahaha

Slayer... **** YEAH!

truth be told... i used to love heavily distorted vocals... but now... it usually just all sounds like goblins "singing" over trance music

i still love heavily processed vocals... but vocoding your voice with white noise and/or just the same suicide commando-esque distortion (**** you boss SE-70) has gotten really boring... and it actually puts off a ton of people who would otherwise love the music

For some strange reason Gearslutz decided you have to put only the bit after the "v="".

No one knows why they over-complicated it like this, as every other forum does it via the entire link (which is of course easier to copy 'n paste).

Also no one knows why when you get the (YOUTUBE][/YOUTUBE) bit the curser goes to the end instead of staying in the middle where it should be.

Thus embedding Youtube links takes you 2 or 3 more clicks than it does anywhere else.

I have a feeling the people who "run" GS aren't really all there. Or its an older system model. The Youtube posting is weird, and the censorship just drives me nuts.
