Kawai Super Glorius

What in the heck is this thing?? E-piano? Synth? ???

I've stumbled into one for a rock bottom price but can literally find NOTHING about it on the web.

Not really concerned about value but it looks pretty big and I have no desire to store another paperweight.

Help!

Awesome! Thanks for the Ace video, I hadn't researched it any as I attempted to do with the Kawai, so that's my own fault.

The Ace definitely falls into paperweight catagory after that video however!

You guys rock as usual, now school me on the durned keyboard!!

I honestly just skipped the @seen part for a moment and nearly pooped my pants.

Also if any fellow sluts want that Ace let me know and I'll grab it for you.

dude.. is your avatar a picture of an actual piece of gear where the volume goes to 11?

too cool.. its gotta be a joke.. would be really awesome if it was a joke to the manufacturers and they actually made it that way

I am still guessing. I think it is an electric powered reed organ (do these exist?) from the 1960's or even older. Based on the label is was probably exclusively produced for the Japanese market.

Edit: Here is the Kawai Company History:
http://www.kawai.co.jp/worldwide/company/index6.html
Note the the Reed Organ production already started in 1930.

Here are the serial # for the pianos:
http://www.kawaius-tsd.com/pages/serial_manudate.html
Hope to get some indication about the production year.

My google-ing discovers more and more weird keyboards:

The headphone out on my Presonus Lightpipe goes to 11, and has a corny joke in the manual to accompany it. It think it is a pretty common joke. Have seen it on other amps.
