909 midi sync problems

Hi, i've connected my 909's midi in to my midisports midi out, set the 909 to midi sync mode and selected midi channel 1. Now when I press play in my sequencer, the 909 pattern starts playing, however its totally the wrong speed. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Its frying my head, I cant seem to suss it
Cheers

what do you mean "the wrong speed" - is the clock speed in time but wrong (too fast or too slow) or is it out of sync and all over the place?

you don't need to set a MIDI channel if all you are doing is sync it to MIDI clock. how are you setting the channel and the clock sync?

IIRC the 909 can have sync issues as a midi slave unless it has what is called the "version 4" rom chip. I found this out the hard way, years ago, live although I may have some of the details wrong. I'm not saying that's the problem here, but it's worth mentioning.
