Musitronics D50 MEX expansion

After having just recently purchased a D50, a D550 with MEX expansion has been made available to me for $200. Anyone know what the most recent version number is for the MEX ? This one is version 3.40. Trying to figure out if this would have the CPU speed added to it or not and the owner says he didnt really use it as a multitimbal module. I'm thinking I should snag it.

Had a D50 with the MEX expansion and as far as i remember i never used the multitimbrality once. Don't think it does anything to CPU speed. Unless you want a D50/550 and it happens to come with a MEX i would not advice against it but i would not spend extra money just for the MEX,no way.

EDIT: But on the other hand 200$ to still your curiosity isn't much either. If all else fails you can just sell it for pretty much what you gave for it.

Yeah, I was thinking that too. I've been noticing how nice the D50 sounds compared to some of my modern digital synths and later analog gear like JX10, etc. Through a PA I'm really blown away by how nice it sounds. I'll just snag it, what the hell.
