Dub step

I really have been starting to get interested into listening to Dub Step after hearing this song on WATCH THE THRONE, that had a Dub Step feel. In order to get my Dub Step chops up to date, I was wondering if anyone could recommend any modern/recent(release in the last year or so), albums or artist I should listen to. This will help me understand the genre a little better. Thanks.

Pull up Pandora from your computer and use "skrillex" "nero" "bassnectar" "flux pavilion" "rusko" as your artist channel.!

Any of those will create a Pandora channel filled with nearly non-stop "dubstep".

To name some artists: check the output of the Hyperdub label. Burial, Kode9, Benga & Coki, etc.

What little I have heard of dubstep I am not crazy about, but I could see borrowing some elements of it for my compositions. Especially the "wobble" bass sounds.

You and everyone else, I'm afraid. It's already reapplied in different genres heh

Fatal Fury! ALL GLORY TO THE HYPNOTOAD!

And of course, how can one not just bow down to Sukh Knight, now we're talking some classy dubstep!

But dubstep can still be good music. The sad thing is when underground music as dubstep become more popular it will become more industry and lose it soul.

All flash and no substance... more so.. I just don't find any of the rhythms very engaging. This stuff and Deadmau5 .. music for girls with long hair that dance with their hands... or guys that talk about dance music all the time.. but don't really dance..

there's no primal appeal for me.. I like the devils music... not dennis the menace.
