Could you describe it ?

I am looking some something to add fullness and weight to my sounds.
Would recomment it for that ?
or any other gear ?

Sergio

That's what it does, takes the ITB digital sound and makes it sound full, warmer and fatter through the natural compression that running through tubes brings...for the price it's great....I can't compare it to higher end/higher price gear because I haven't owned other tube gear...but a notable improvement on the ITB sound to my ears....more 'vibe'

Thanks for sharing your experience.

By the way, how, do you use your fat track with your DAW?

Any special tips also ?

Regards

Sergio

Could someone please put up a before/after mix running through the fattrack, I've been curious to hear it since it's release particularly the 3D stereo enhancement which apparently accompanies such gear. The TLaudio rep sent me some samples but the before sample was in stereo and after was in mono.

I see you need a device for processing flat digital audio.
Fat track is good for those tube sound. HEDD is good for tape emulation. You can always try plugins inside your DAW to add those hardware distortion.
Triton colortone pro, nebula, universal audio plugins (colors sound even in bypass state), moog filter to add those fet distortion.
But if you need tube sound - get tubes

I am really wondering about that optionnal firewire DO-F card they propose for the Fat Track and how it integrates to your DAW.

They say it transforms the fat track into a complete sound card also.

I am really curious about that

i have a fat track and it's ok .
i use it to track my analogue synths and as summing box .
i prefer to turn all the knobs to max and lower the volume of the stems coming out from logic , so that i don't have to worry about settings when working on multiple projects .
the tubes are pre-master so you drive them with the channel knobs .

using an anylzer i noticed that it gives a lot of 20Hz

i found an interesting article to mod the fat track :

do-f

Hi, I have the TL audio Fat track with the do-8 (adat)

I had a hard time opening the FT to install the do-8 card (I had to disconnect a preamp card, and I didn't wanted 2 break it), but at the end I'm more than happy. The sound is really nice translated. (MS-10 & VXT 8 & genelec 8020a)

I use the FT for monitoring, analog summing (clean when u dont drive the machine, sweet when it u want it) & as preamp for bounces (vocals, synths, MPC 4K)

it's really nice, goes perfect with logic, PT.. The FT is the centerpiece of my studio. just wonna add a compressor for the insert connection

I assume that the do-f has the same conversion quality..

Peace!

Nate

i would not trust such an important task to a lower end piece of gear like that. you would be better off in the box with decapitator on your busses and master channel, especially if you are not running top end converters. save your money for a classic piece that you will never have to upgrade.
